To not tell my son I lied to him?

And let him continue pretending to be poorly and see how far he goes?

I told him last night that he's back at school today. He has woken with a super bad fake cough, has complained about belly ache, his toe also hurts him.

I'm waiting to be told he has a broken leg Grin

How ill should I let him get before I let him know I was messing with him and he has weeks yet?

bear

Totally agree, what a brilliant attitude. it sounds like you all have a sense of humour.

from reading this thread it's clear why some kids grow up without a sense of humour and unable to have a laugh, bad parenting to be miserable PO's.

Just different parenting.

Ooooh, fantastic. Get up for work and get your son up telling him its take your kid to work day and he will get to do loads of fun filing and writing boring stuff etc etc

Then take him to mcdonalds Smile

BeautyQueenFromMars · 11/08/2016 10:38

He's asked if work has an 'e' in it and is today spelt with two 'o's?

Brilliant! He's more cunning than Baldrick Grin

BeautyQueenFromMars · 11/08/2016 10:40

Sorry, didn't refresh page before posting. Your kid is great, Derek.

FairNotFair · 11/08/2016 10:41

Hope you're saving up for all the therapy your DS will undoubtedly need, Derek. You awful woman, you.

LaContessaDiPlump · 11/08/2016 10:41

Love it Derek, he sounds like a fun little guy Grin

Thanks gillybeamz. I would never humiliate them. The op is having a laugh with her boy. Why do people get so offended by this, I seriously don't get it. It's the sort of thing I do all the time. When you get into the world of work having a laugh and being part of the team is a really important social skill in my opinion. It's so important to laugh at your own mistakes.

GinandTits · 11/08/2016 10:42

Was anyone on a thread similar to this a few days ago? The son got gymnastics and swimming mixed up and two one poster came on to say how shit we are as mums.it just ended up people posting cat memes. There's some well weird people on MN lately, getting their knickers in a twist over anything. I like cat memes

Salmotrutta · 11/08/2016 10:42

Honey - that's exactly what I meant so thank you Grin

And now we have MrsRyanGosling dragging other threads up too.

I agree. The poor lad will be a fuck up for years and years to come. No doubt.

So here's what we can do - if we all send the OP a quid or so she'll be able to get the counselling ball rolling to limit the damage.

Will nobody think of the children?

Noonesfool · 11/08/2016 10:44

bad parenting really?

Derek I once had to deal with a kid at school who got into trouble for playing "knock down ginger". The person whose door it was was furious, came into school, called the police etc

When I got said child's mum in she said "ohhhhh....yeah I'm not surprised we do this as a family all the time"

My face was like this: 😳
Then this: 🙄

Cautionary tale to all you pranksters 😂😂

Gin that's exactly the thread and point I was making.

And I haven't dragged posters views over by the way - I'm just referencing a thread in general.

DerekSprechenZeDick · 11/08/2016 10:45

Damage is already done. He's an evil genius now.

Probably will realise how evil he truly is and turn to a life of crime.

Why all the judgey comments? Hmm

You're not going to give the poor boy a complex - I remember my dad did the exact thing to me once when I was little...and the best part is then being told that actually you have lots more summer left! Grin

Some people really need to get over themselves so their children don't grow up to be over-sensitive special snowflakes!

GinandTits · 11/08/2016 10:46

Ahh ok. I think this thread is funny to like the other one. signs up to parenting class asap

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 11/08/2016 10:46

Bless him! Was just reading the other thread about not liking other people's children (and I'm afraid I agree with the OP!). but your DS sounds fab. Love the fact he's got you back - do keep up the shock and disappointment for as long as possible! Keep us posted on how long he holds out for....

NorksAreMessy · 11/08/2016 10:48

anyone else want to see a picture of the sneaky altered rota?
G'wan Dezza, let's see.

I like your boy's style

HoneyDragon · 11/08/2016 10:52

Sorry to derail but actually Veryproud you were told numerous times on that thread that you were repeating stuff that hadn't been said

Bwah ha ha ha

#sorrynotsorry

Just put your ego back in the box and don't continue a bunfight on another thread then. Rather than 'sorry but' bollocks.

ItShouldHaveBeenJess · 11/08/2016 10:52

Norks. Yes! Me too!
