To not tell my son I lied to him?

DerekSprechenZeDick · 11/08/2016 09:15

And let him continue pretending to be poorly and see how far he goes?

I told him last night that he's back at school today. He has woken with a super bad fake cough, has complained about belly ache, his toe also hurts him.

I'm waiting to be told he has a broken leg Grin

How ill should I let him get before I let him know I was messing with him and he has weeks yet?

He sounds well traumatised Derek - may not look or sound it now but just you wait 15 years, oh yes.

So, why is it considered okay to laugh at your DC for saying something stupid and take the mickey for years to come but not okay to play a prank?

Although I suppose I should first ask if any of the people on this thread also contributed to the "laughing at stupid things DC did/said thread"?

I didn't contribute to that one by the way but I don't see any harm in gentle ribbing about silly things people say.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 11/08/2016 10:08

So many humourless people in this world. Playing little pranks is fun.
Have a super day Derek.

THirdEeye · 11/08/2016 10:08

Oo I wonder what evil plan he has concocted >evil laugh

coolaschmoola · 11/08/2016 10:09

Somebody will be along in a minute to tell you that you are a DREADFUL parent for letting him watch 15 hours of Stampy....

Some people are very literal.

I just figure that you know YOUR son better than all of the clutchers and are in a better position to know if he will be upset. Not that they think so!

Sleep with one eye open tonight Grin

JudyCoolibar · 11/08/2016 10:10

Have you asked him about his miraculous recovery?

exLtEveDallas · 11/08/2016 10:10

I laughed, and I'd be tempted to do the same to DD (as a way to get her to bed early for sure) Grin

But then I got roundly set upon for daring to 'catfish' DD on Minecraft, so what do I know?

HoneyDragon · 11/08/2016 10:10

Sorry to say but this thread just made me realise that alot of people agree with the regulars (popularity contest on here) but when it's a newbie or they think it's a newbie they actually say what they think.

Bollocks. It's a chat forum and the debatey/contrary section of it. Ffs, people have different opinions.

How bad did the selection of symptoms get?

I don't need to mess with mine about the holidays, the holidays mess them up enough. Dd had a full on strop with me last Thursday insisting it was Wednesday, she point blank refused to believe me and stormed of to ask Siri. Only then did she grudgingly relent. My snorting and laughing couldn't be helped.

TheGruffaloMother · 11/08/2016 10:11

Aworldofmyown how very dare you insinuate that Grin

GrimmauldPlace · 11/08/2016 10:11

DS (8) ran in and woke us up one morning saying "Mummy, it's 8.45, shouldn't I be at school now?". I've never jumped out of bed so fast in my life. Running around like a headless chicken trying to sort breakfast/get washed and dressed/find school bags. DH and DS were still in the bedroom so I ran back in there to tell them to get a move on and saw them both laughing hysterically. It suddenly dawned on me that it was a Saturday plus when I finally checked the clock it was only 6.30am!

They'd apparently planned it all the night before. Shits.

This back to school prank might be my chance for payback! Grin

DerekSprechenZeDick · 11/08/2016 10:11

My work rota has gone missing off the fridge. The door to the living room is shut but someone's in there laughing...

He's stolen my work rota as part of his Grinrevenge I think

His symptoms were close to amputation I think. They eased of slowly as he worked it out.

Fully recovered now and in evil genius mode as we speak

Derek wow, these folks need to lighten up.

Bet they've all said Santa claus is alive and well.

But beware, he will get his sense of humour from you, and you might not like it!

JudyCoolibar · 11/08/2016 10:16

veryproudvolleyballmum, you were convinced on the Beach VB thread that everyone was slagging off your daughter because they questioned the use of bikinis for VB players at the Olympics. You are taking this incredibly seriously and seeing personal insults everywhere. With every respect, do you think it's possible that you may take things too seriously?

Oliversmumsarmy · 11/08/2016 10:16

One of the indicators of bullying is school refusal and illness faking

Or just doesn't like school. Ds used to pull this one regularly. He would have truly loved school if there were no teachers and he could play with his mates all day
