WWYD car parked on our drive

Marsaday · 19/07/2016 21:48

Some complete asshat has left their car parked on our drive.

It has been there at least since my OH got home at 4.30, but could have been there all day.
Have phoned 101 and police say not reported stolen but they won't do anything as the car is on private land and not blocking us in. It's not a car that we recognise as belonging to neighbours and we're not near a hospital, station, airport etc.
We have currently parked across the drive preventing said car from leaving and left our phone number on the window. However, as we have a baby and a toddler our phones are on silent at night.
WIBU to leave the car blocked in until morning?
Or how can we get the car moved?

Block it in for as long as you can.

ThatsMyStapler · 19/07/2016 21:49

I'd order a skip to be placed behind it....

Is there a problem with parking in your area?

maddening · 19/07/2016 21:51

Just leave it till morning - remove your number and leave a note to advise that there is no one available till 10am

MephistoMarley · 19/07/2016 21:51

Keep it blocked in! Stay in all day if you have to. Twats.

Onesieisthequeensselfie · 19/07/2016 21:52

brilliant idea maddening! Grin

HereIAm20 · 19/07/2016 21:52

Block it in - leave phones on silent - when they ask you to move calculate how long they have been there and say you will let them out in the same length of time! Plus charge them for parking!

ABCAlwaysBeCunting · 19/07/2016 21:52

Block it in!

branofthemist · 19/07/2016 21:52

Keep it blocked in. I bet they knock at the door though.

StealthPolarBear · 19/07/2016 21:53

Lurking

Welshmaenad · 19/07/2016 21:53

If they do knock, I find it such a shame you have both had wine with dinner and are unable to drive until morning.

SalemsLott · 19/07/2016 21:54

Srick your dc's dirty nappies on the windscreen poo side down Grin

HarlettOScara · 19/07/2016 21:54

Totally block it in and if you need to use your car in the morning, can you arrange for a friend or relative to bring their car to block it in. In fac, if you're anywhere near me, I'll lend you one of ours Grin

honeysucklejasmine · 19/07/2016 21:55

Place marking. Blatantly.

Pardonwhat · 19/07/2016 21:55

Id get it towed away Blush

AuditAngel · 19/07/2016 21:56

Depends how nice your car is.

I did this once, after waiting about 10 minutes, I blocked the car in. About 3/4 hour later a horn was blaring, so I sauntered round. Got a mouthful of abuse from the driver for blocking her in, forcing her baby to sit in the Coke when she had only been 5 minutes Confused

I pointed out that SHE had made her baby wait as SHE had parked in my space in front of my garage. She continued to verbally abuse me, so I said fine, I'm going back indoors until you can be civil.......

Unsurprisingly she soon shut up.....

BoGrainger · 19/07/2016 21:56

It's probably been in for a service and the garage have dropped it 'home'. Are you sure the keys haven't been put through the letter box?

Scarydinosaurs · 19/07/2016 21:56

I also would block it in, even though technically you are then the one at fault. Which is frustrating, but hey.

Have you knocked on all your neighbours and asked?

Masketti · 19/07/2016 21:56

Block it in but remove phone number and if you can turn off the bell. Say you'll be available from x time then lock up and go to bed. Asshats.

BusStopBetty · 19/07/2016 21:56

It might be entirely innocent. We had one parked on ours. Turned out a garage dropped it off at the wrong house. Check under the wheel arch for a key.

Otherwise, block the fucker in.

NapQueen · 19/07/2016 21:57

Definitely block it in! Cheeky fuckers.

AuditAngel · 19/07/2016 21:57

I really should check my posts

A horn was blaring..

Baby had to sit in the cold

SquinkiesRule · 19/07/2016 21:57

Ooooh Cheeky feckers.
Have you asked all the neighbors if they have visitors?
I'd take a picture and make it public on facebook and shame the beggars, get all your friends to share it and post it on the local facebook selling site or whichever groups you are part of.

SaggyNaggy · 19/07/2016 21:58

Call an auto key company.
Silly ypu, you've locked ypour keys in your car. They'll comepout, change the locks, give ypu new keys and then you can park it at the airport without paying. Eventually the airport will send them a letter letting them know where their car is.

Grin
HarlettOScara · 19/07/2016 21:59

Yes, if remove phone number too and be uncontactable for as long as possible.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 19/07/2016 21:59

Placemarking. Unashamedly.
