WWYD car parked on our drive

Some complete asshat has left their car parked on our drive.

It has been there at least since my OH got home at 4.30, but could have been there all day.
Have phoned 101 and police say not reported stolen but they won't do anything as the car is on private land and not blocking us in. It's not a car that we recognise as belonging to neighbours and we're not near a hospital, station, airport etc.
We have currently parked across the drive preventing said car from leaving and left our phone number on the window. However, as we have a baby and a toddler our phones are on silent at night.
WIBU to leave the car blocked in until morning?
Or how can we get the car moved?

Block, Block, Block!! Then don't answer your door when they knock. I've had this before. Smile

MilesHuntsWig · 19/07/2016 22:02

Wow how cheeky!!! Let the tyres down.

Marsaday · 19/07/2016 22:02

We thought it was neighbours daughter so left it until 9pm then knocked and asked them to move it, but it's not theirs! if it
Belongs to anyone on the street then they've got a new car as it's not one ive been before. Parking here isn't super easy but you can always find a space, it just probably won't be outside your own house. Only one other house has a drive.

Jesus people are so cheeky! Unless it's a garage dropping back but I'd put my money on it just being pure cheek

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 19/07/2016 22:03

Just parking on the OPs thread waiting for an update.

Grin

And yes I agree, take photos and shame on FB and leave a note saying you're not available until the very latest time you can move your car. Remove your number though.

Cataline · 19/07/2016 22:03

I love the idea of moving it to an airport car park- is it really that easy to get a new key though?

HarlettOScara · 19/07/2016 22:03

I used to live by a football stadium. Match days were obviously a parking nightmare.l and it was just a little terraced street so Jo driveways or off street parking. My neighbour used to put comes out to reserve his space - they had young kids and it wasn't fun or feasible to lug them and the shopping from a mile or more away. Often people attending the match moved the cones and poked anyway. They always came back to at least 2 flat tires - not punctured, just air let out.

Not that I would ever suggest, encourage or condone such a course of action...

Lorelei76 · 19/07/2016 22:04

If you have your phone pff the asshat will just bang on the door at three am.

lifesalongsong · 19/07/2016 22:04

Isn't it more likely that someone's made a genuine mistake?

You've done all you can do for now, hopefully you won't be woken up in the middle of the night

Unashamedly place marking Grin

londonrach · 19/07/2016 22:05

Parked myself for an update.

Pinkheart5915 · 19/07/2016 22:05

I'd block it in.

I've done it before, in our old house it was my drive and I didn't care the driver didn't want to pay for parking that's just tough really isn't it cheeky sod.

TallulahTheTiger · 19/07/2016 22:05

pearlman does that mean technically I can park in someone's ️drive and they can't do anything?!

nocoolnamesleft · 19/07/2016 22:05

Surely you're not deliberately blocking it in. You are merely parking conveniently to your house, which may happen to block your own drive.

Grassgreendashhabi · 19/07/2016 22:06

If still there in morning I would order a skip

user7755 · 19/07/2016 22:07

Saggy - you're an evil genius. and I'm place marking

Cheeky feckers! Love the idea of changing the locks and parking it at the airport!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 19/07/2016 22:09

I wouldn't think you were 'deliberately blocking them in' if you park on your own drive where they've also parked without permission. You're just parking your own vehicle on your own privately owned land. The preventing them from leaving is simply a consequence of their actions, not a deliberate action by you, surely?

Cocolepew · 19/07/2016 22:10

Oh a parking one 🚗🎉
