Swearing on Mumsnet

Kittyinthewood · 29/06/2016 16:34

Just a simple and maybe even a silly question - but why do people swear on Mumsnet? It just often makes peoples comments come across as so aggressive.....the swearing could so easily be avoided...and the comments come across as more considerd. I am interested to read what others think.....Thanks loads folks....XXX

ScrambledSmegs · 29/06/2016 17:38

Seriously you don't think people swear at work? It was rife in my old job, they taught me to swear in another language because it wasn't enough to just swear in English.

'Cunt' was also used as a term of endearment there.

WorriedofMiltonKeynes · 29/06/2016 17:38

Wow! Am deeply impressed, and I was in the military for years...

Titbumfannywank by the way.

ScrambledSmegs · 29/06/2016 17:39

Funny thing is, I didn't swear much before I had kids. The little fuckers have driven me to it. That and gin.

NeedACleverNN · 29/06/2016 17:40

My husband swears at work ALOT. In fact he is fluent in swearing in polish due to working in a close environment with them. Bit of git when he swears at me in polish and I don't know what he is saying

we swear at each other all the time. No abusive relations

ilovesooty · 29/06/2016 17:40

2yummymummy2

Do tell us about the posh people you move among.
Also you don't have to be a mother to use the site effectively. What a load of bollocks.

Everything about 2yummymummy2 makes me feel sad. Thank fuck for the rest of you.

Natsku · 29/06/2016 17:44

I can swear at work too. My supervisor is always saying fucking this and fucking that - its great!

acasualobserver · 29/06/2016 17:44

I think frigging is very funny. I would like people to put more frigging in their posts.

farageisacunt · 29/06/2016 17:46

Swearing is vulgar.

Won't catch me doing it. Oh no.
Grin

KateLivesInEngland · 29/06/2016 17:47

I'm sweary on here and just as sweary if not more so in real life. Doesn't mean I'm a horrible person. The two do not go hand in hand.
Being anti swearing is just another form of prudishness.

Pagwatch · 29/06/2016 17:48

Threads complaining about swearing have more swearing than any other threads.
It's a cunting circle.

TrixieBernadette · 29/06/2016 17:48

I swear. A lot. Think fuck is my most common word. God knows how I have taught for so many years and not sworn in class, I'm that bad.

I will say I hate the word cunt though. I say it very rarely and hate seeing it written down (this is my first time!) BUT I hate the word Hun, the floaty kisses, the glitter, and the general "mummy knows best" shit that's on other sites.

I respect the people who post here. So I blink a bit more at some of the words.

And say fucking fantastic.

glasgowlass · 29/06/2016 17:48

yummymummy

You do realise that MN isn't just purely for mums don't you? Your comment about people actually having jobs is pure and simply utter cuntfuckery.
You can fuck right of with your sanctimonious shite too & take your twee nickname with you. Nethuns would be more suited to you.
It's like fud central on here today.

TrixieBernadette · 29/06/2016 17:49

Farageisacunt - I have just broken my cunt typing rule to say fan fucking tastic username

MrsHathaway · 29/06/2016 17:49

Most posh people never use the f word so it's not even something I hear often in real life

I do not think posh means what you think it means.

glasgowlass · 29/06/2016 17:49

purple thanks for linking to that thread earlier. I intended to come back to do it but was busy parenting & shit 😉

TrixieBernadette · 29/06/2016 17:50

Ha ha ha ha yummymummy, do you know any "posh" people? Because everyone I know who has money and private education and would be regarded as posh say Fuck a lot

BathshuaSpooner · 29/06/2016 17:51

I fucking love to swear, heart ellipses and often use xxxxx...I embrace the dark side. 😈😈
