Swearing on Mumsnet

Just a simple and maybe even a silly question - but why do people swear on Mumsnet? It just often makes peoples comments come across as so aggressive.....the swearing could so easily be avoided...and the comments come across as more considerd. I am interested to read what others think.....Thanks loads folks....XXX

Aww, cute OP. Particularly like the fucking kisses on the end.

PurpleDaisies · 29/06/2016 17:51

My main knowledge of posh people cones from made in Chelsea. They certainly swear a lot.

kelper · 29/06/2016 17:52

I have recently discovered the joy that is calling someone a Cunt.
I previously hated the word. Used it in anger once, and presto! Cunting everywhere.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 29/06/2016 17:53

The term yummy mummy should be fucking banned it's vulgar and makes me want to puke. I too know lots of posh people who say fuck a lot and swear at work!

NeedACleverNN · 29/06/2016 17:53

A cunting circle!

Love it! Very apt Pagwatch

HisNameWasPrinceAndHeWasFunky · 29/06/2016 17:53

If I couldn't swear I wouldn't be here.

You do know loads and loads of swearing is not at all aggressive?

TrixieBernadette · 29/06/2016 17:55

I hate yummy mummy too. I'm in a fucking whatsapp group called it. Makes me whince. Tried leaving once and got readded and I don't seem to be able to piss them off enough to drop me

AnnieOnnieMouse · 29/06/2016 17:55

Because it's one of the few places most of can swear. here we can let loose, and say what we wish, how we wish. In real life, we must try not to swear in the street, in front of the children, on most online fora, at work, at family members who may be driving us round the bend. This is our safety valve.
If you don't like it, sod off to the purple glittery place.

I saw the thread title and thought " I know exactly how this thread is going to go..." And I was right. More gratuitous swearing that seen in an entire week on MN!

PurpleDaisies · 29/06/2016 17:59

Do you think the op's head has combusted with all the swearing?

Has the OP fucked off? I will never understand why people get offended by adults swearing.

Thefitfatty · 29/06/2016 18:05

yougottheshining · 29/06/2016 18:06

I love swearing I do. It's fucking brilliant.

HoneyDragon · 29/06/2016 18:14

Step away from the Pritt-stick my lovely Smile

2yummymummy2 · 29/06/2016 18:16

Where do people grow up that they don't understand that swearing is offensive?

People get warnings for swearing in most professions. Any idiot can swear but not everyone can state a valid point without resorting to bad language.

I didn't start this thread but I do agree that the sweating is just pointless and shows lack of class

Of course now everyone is swearing. That's SO clever and mature Hmm

user7755 · 29/06/2016 18:17

Have just read the other thread and had to come on and say, OP - fuck off to the far side of fuck and then fuck off some more.

You have no idea what you are talking about, and the fact that you think that it is worse to swear than to patronise and judge the parenting of someone else when you clearly have no fucking idea tells me as much as I need to know about you.

Swearing, when appropriate, is great. Sweating is not so great!

NeedACleverNN · 29/06/2016 18:20

Sweating is inappropriate unless you have been exercising. Very offending tis that sweat isn't it?

Swearing...nah not really
