Just as Ds1 gets bored of it, ds2 gets hooked.

Years and years of hearing about the bloody thing, having to look at the latest creation, being nagged to "join" only to have arrows fired at me and the lovely things I build blown up with TNT.

AND to make matters WORSE - the fucking YouTube videos where they watch someone else play and yak all the way through it.

PISS OFF MINECRAFT. JUST PISS OFF!

Thankfully DS(8) outgrew Stampy some time ago. He's now obsessed with DanTDM who I might be obsessing over in a frankly quite perverted way myself and he's a jolly nice young chap indeed. DD(5) is just starting on her DanTDM Minecraft journey.

Start picking up cows and sheep and throw them - quite fun with a glass of wine (no idea how you're actually supposed to play the game but in guessing it's not this)

My 7yr old DS loves it, Stampy's laugh is very annoying. It seems addictive so I ration it, my DS will sit playing it for as long as he's allowed. I've bought him headphones for the You Tube films, the noise is awful.

I agree about the endless boring conversations about new levels and bloody endomen, how to make an iron sword etc. So yes, YANBU.

YABU. Minecraft is fab :)

On the plus side, my DS is dyslexic and so is the man that invented Minecraft, this makes DS feel okay about dyslexia.

Make the most of it - soon it will be "but muuuuuum everyone else has GTA/COD etc."

DD1 is 7 and only mentioned this to me today for the first time. I have to admit I haven't really got a clue.

We don't have a console and I am unwilling to give up my laptop to it...but in case I do decide to buy it for her, can someone give me an idiots guide to what it is/how it is played/does it cost more after the initial cost/what is the initial cost?

Just thank your lucky stars it's not Tiny Turtles and Little Kelly. Her squeaky Irish voice makes me want to kill. TDM and Stampy are not too bad by comparison although they do gabble in like they have taken amphetamines.

I like it better when he swaps it for zombie killing, it's rather more healthy.

YABU. For sheer bloody tedium I give you Nino Kuni and the wrath of the white witch. DD1 regularly tortures me with her excruciatingly slow progress on this snooze fest of a game!
Oddly when I was nagged into watching one of Stampy's walk throughs of it he managed to make it look interesting - it's animated by Studio Ghibli so it's beautiful to look at but fuck me it's boring when she plays it!
I'd rather take guided tours of the minecraft villages her and her brother build any day!

DD7 is fecking obsessed!! Turn your back for a nanosecond and she'll have put fucking swiped the remote and put dan on youtube... had her off sick for a week, longest week of my life!!!

When my DS is at school and he's been a shite I go onto his world and set traps so he ends up blowing up his house or he triggers lava pouring over his buildings.

My favourite was setting up a hidden arrow trap. He kept spawning and instantly got hit with waves of arrows, died and the. Respawned in the same spot

Oh and there was the time I set his spawn spot inside and obsidian cube 10 blocks thick. It took him over and hour with wooden pick axes to get out again.

Yes, I have ha enough of Minecraft but if you cant beat them...
