To wish minecraft had NEVER BEEN INVENTED?

Just as Ds1 gets bored of it, ds2 gets hooked.

Years and years of hearing about the bloody thing, having to look at the latest creation, being nagged to "join" only to have arrows fired at me and the lovely things I build blown up with TNT.

AND to make matters WORSE - the fucking YouTube videos where they watch someone else play and yak all the way through it.

PISS OFF MINECRAFT. JUST PISS OFF!

Them playing minecraft I can cope with - its the feckin YouTube I'm sick of. Currently it's Ethan Gamer TV and Dantdm ALL THE TIME. ALL the time!!!
If it's not that, they are hogging my PC playing bloody roblox.* (got stars but no bold?)

Oh god this is my life too, my dd7 is so in love with Ethan gamer, I asked if she loved him she told me "he's famous and doesn't know I'm alive!" (Yes 7 she is!)

Last year sons teacher had to ban the boys from discussing it acting out minecraft as they all spent the day pretending to be and talking like villagers making that stupid noise and it drive the teacher batty!

Yup, Minecraft can most definitely get on your nerves, as can all of the YouTube videos.

We took the DC to a Minecraft convention last year as they watch, or have watched, a lot of the YouTubers who were the guests. DH and I were pretty bored but the kids loved it. The YouTubers were all great with the kids, and in our case DD got to chat to both LDShadowlady and AmyLee33 and they were both lovely. :)

We're not going to this year's event as we have other stuff on that weekend, but fortunately none of this year's guests are YouTubers the kids are keen on, so we're not getting grief from the kids about having to miss it.

I hate Dan TDM and his stupid "oh jeez" every five seconds. And I hate how my children think his word is law and everything he says is true/amazing/worth listening to. I hope the blue hair dye makes him go bald.

Well I popped into asda today and they didn't have the pjs so I've had to order them online now as I made the mistake of showing my DS them this morning and he can't live without them now apparently.

I didn't realise that DanTDM swore in his videos!

I can't believe I'm asking this bluebump, but do you have the link to the pyjamas?

I'm getting my hair done on Sunday and my littlest boy asked me yesterday what colour I was having (I'm blonde - I just go blonder). I said I was going to dye my hair blue because I wanted to look like Dan. He laughed and told me I was silly. Then there was a pause and he said: "Are you actually?"

Bad news - ds2 outgrew Minecraft last year. He was 13. So I'm afraid some of you have many years if it ahead of you.

Headphones are your friend Grin

Ds2 used to skype his friend at the same time, then they could play on the same server together!

DS was so upset last week when DanTDM changed the lab. He was so incensed, he said he wasn't going to watch him ever again Shock That lasted half a day . . .

When DS started watching the Youtubers, I bought headphones. I couldn't bear listening to Stampy but actually I've got used to him. and I have a secret crush on Squid - I think it's the Yorkshire accent

I do quite like Minecraft but my creations are pathetic compared to DS'. During the holidays, we had a Minecraft Challenge morning and DS kept going 'I think your building is good mummy, honestly.' and giving me high scores

As for FNAF, I won't let DS watch it. Is it not for older DCs?

I could spend hours in Creative mode building elaborate houses.

Just a warning for those hoping their DC will grow out of it - DS and his friends are having a Minecraft and film night here tonight. It'll mostly be Minecraft...
They are all between the ages of 15 and 18 Grin

Please don't let your kids use headphones, it doesn't matter how irritating you find their interests, it can damage their hearing. (Mum of a hearing impaired child here.)

kathybeale did your son tell your husband it's only a game when he inevitably went a bit crazy after deleting his masterpiece!

My mum always used to say that to us as kids and it still winds me up now.
