To think I'm not alone with not falling for adverts

I can't remember the last time I bought anything that was ever advertised. I get all most of my food from my able and Cole and local Indy organic shop. I go on holiday in interesting places that the average person wouldn't of heard of. When I need a new car I just get whatever my friend with a garage has a good deal on. With electrics I always just get something that has good reviews from somewhere like which.

I really can't think if the last time I bought anything branded. I do feel like I'm the only one in modern Britain.

I don't understand who falls for adverts?

Well if you feel like you are the only one, it must be everybody else.

VeryPunny · 17/10/2015 09:03

Aren't you clever!

MorrisZapp · 17/10/2015 09:05

I'm an average person. Come on, hit me with your holiday destinations.

Biscuit
Sh20 · 17/10/2015 09:10

I'm not saying I'm clever. I just don't see why people fall for advertising,

Well this year I've been to Tonga and Armenia. Most people at work had no idea where either of them were.

Perhaps you are missing out on loads of new stuff, apps, fashions etc and that you could have found your holiday at half the price - you'll never know!

PunkrockerGirl · 17/10/2015 09:13

I fall for adverts all the time.

BeverlyGoldberg · 17/10/2015 09:13

Oh dear I must be an average person. Ouch, the dawn of realisation is a painful one.

I buy things I like, whether they have been advertised or not.

Despite being average I know where Tonga and Armenia are.

You sound lovely by the way.

Oysterbabe · 17/10/2015 09:14

Is it me or are stealth boasts much less stealthy these days?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 17/10/2015 09:16

I'm always getting advert flyers from Abel and Cole through the letterbox.

WhichNameToChooseNext · 17/10/2015 09:16

The average person wouldn't say "wouldn't of". But that's another done to death thread............

Kacie123 · 17/10/2015 09:16

#hipsterfriend!

(I've fallen for adverts but you've probably never heard of them Grin)

LaurieMarlow · 17/10/2015 09:17

Well you fell for the Able and Cole branding for a start.

Juss sayin ...

annandale · 17/10/2015 09:17

How did you get to Tonga - a locally sourced aeroplane?

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 17/10/2015 09:18

I buy loads of branded stuff because I like it.

I shop in Tescos because it's round the corner and I don't drive.

Those choices have bugger all to do with advertising.

Narp · 17/10/2015 09:21

I would be really surprised if you never purchase anything at all on the basis of advertising.

Shampoo? Cleaning products? Makeup? Toys? Magazines? Theatre tickets? Cinema tickets?

I think you are winding us up a little bit

Narp · 17/10/2015 09:21

BTW it's Abel and Cole

Kacie123 · 17/10/2015 09:22

I'm not saying this is fake (because weirder things have happened and I have friends who sound like this) ... But if I were a troll, this is how I'd do it. I like your style! Smile

Narp · 17/10/2015 09:22

I don't know why I replied to this

fredfredgeorgejnrsnr · 17/10/2015 09:25

It's interesting that you choose to buy your food from Able and Cole, presumably a local company using the advertising of the big brand Abel and Cole to hook people in. If you're so adverse to brands, why would you fall for for that?

The average person has heard of both Tonga and Armenia, where do you actually go on holiday too?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 17/10/2015 09:27

Oh, silly me, I misread and thought you meant Abel and Cole, durr.

MardyBra · 17/10/2015 09:29

Where did you hear about Abel and Vole? Was it an advert?

MardyBra · 17/10/2015 09:29

Er, that'll be Cole.
