They're not refugees, we're being invaded

I admit, the Syrians have got it bad. There is a war and those boys who haven't been shot by ISIL are being conscripted by the President.

But if life is that bad, why do they only want to go to Germany and if they can't go then then they'll go back to Syria.

Why are we now seeing people from Kazakstan joining the throngs?

I agree that people from Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria need help. But the thougsands and thousands of people coming through can't all be refugees in dire need of help if they are so picky as to where they will live.

They're invading Europe. And we are letting them. What's going to happen in 20 years? Will Christianity and western ways be swept under the carpet?

They are humans, that is all.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 23/09/2015 23:26

YABU, I think your username is not accidental.

howtorebuild · 23/09/2015 23:26

The only thing that boils my piss are pictures of the vulnerable that are being trampled over and pushed aside by fit young Men.

shins · 23/09/2015 23:27

That Vagabomb link doesn't explain the fact that the conflict has being going on for over 4 years so why did it all kick off this year? And why are so few of the "refugees" Syrians?

goonthenflameme · 23/09/2015 23:29

The boy's dad has gone back to Syria. That is my point exactly.

That poor, poor, poor little boy.

My family are dispersed all over Europe. They fled the Nazis in the 1930s. The individuals didn't care where they ended up. They just wanted to be safe. They didn't argue with the Swiss about which country they were going to be sent to. They just said "Help us, don't send us back. Oh, and thank you."

I love that 'They're invading Europe! And we're letting them!'.

Nobody is under the illusion that thousands of people entering our countries will be an easy and smooth transition but it would be a hell of a lot easier without people opposing and scare-mongering like you are OP.

But for some twist of luck you were born and raised (I assume) in Europe. What makes you think you are more deserving of 'Europe' than anyone else?

SnookyWookyWooWoo · 23/09/2015 23:29

Why are there so few women and children coming? Concerns me slightly to be honest.

howtorebuild · 23/09/2015 23:31

I do think it's a feminist issue Snooky.

Op you have a point but you will be swamped with all the 'right on' types posting here.... And they will attempt to flame you

VinylScratch · 23/09/2015 23:34

Why are there so few women and children coming

I was wondering that too. There's a local group collecting for the refugee camps on Facebook and they only want men's clothes. I could have given loads of DD's outgrown things but they don't want women or children's stuff. Where are the women and children we've seen pictures of on the boats?

ilovesooty · 23/09/2015 23:34

Another name changer who hides to post views that others may find abhorrent then will return to their nice safe username later.

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 23/09/2015 23:34

I've said before, I don't think anyone is wrong being wary about who's taking the mick amongst the geniune refugees. However, invading is not the truth of it, there have been people from the Middle East, Pakistan and Indian (or Muslims, as you seem to alluding to, not so subtley) migrating here for years. Quite frankly, I don't understand the big deal if Islam became as 'big' as Christianity in Europe - does it really matter which made-up Middle Eastern religion people in Europe follow? And what Western ways shall we miss the most? Binge drinking, MacDonalds, or the need to buy a new Apple product every 10 mins?

claraschu · 23/09/2015 23:35

Good link Cherry.

suzannecaravan · 23/09/2015 23:36

I think the mood is changing and people are increasingly feeling under threat of invasion

nancy75 · 23/09/2015 23:37

What western ways will we miss the most? What about gay marriage, freedom of religious expression and equality for women? Some of those are a little more important to me than binge drinking

OddlyLogical · 23/09/2015 23:38

Because the journey is expensive, dangerous and extremely arduous.
When they are granted asylum in a safe country, they can send for their dependents (wife & children) who are then able to travel safely and legally to their new home.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 23/09/2015 23:39

Well if we got off our arses and offered a co-ordinated response then we could consider preferences. You know, speaking the language, having family or in demand skills. That sort of organised approach.
There's nothing wrong with having a preference.
If we all had to decamp to the US then I have several friends we could stay with in one state. I'd pick that one.
And if they speak English and have family and can work then it's a far quicker route to financial benefit for us.

goonthenflameme · 23/09/2015 23:40

I haven't name changed actually. This is my first post. And that will still annoy some of you. "She's a lurker, burn the witch."

CerseiLannistersEyebrow · 23/09/2015 23:40

They only want men's clothes because they've been inundated with women's and children's already.

howtorebuild · 23/09/2015 23:41

Not every woman is married to a young Man, what about unmarried women, the disabled, middle aged and elderly Women?

GiddyOnZackHunt · 23/09/2015 23:41

Suzanne 2 weeks ago the Mail was featuring a drowned little boy. Are we so fickle as to now be frightened of a 'tide of refugees'?

MissFitt68 · 23/09/2015 23:42

Don't worry op, plenty have name changed and appear 'new' after the hacking

SnookyWookyWooWoo · 23/09/2015 23:43

There are lots of conspiracies going around about the fact that these are mostly young men coming over.....made me quite worried even if I don't fully believe them. One I heard was that Isis were sending men over here and to other European countries in order to 'attack from within'. To be fair I did read this on Facebook (and we all know how reliable a source that is!) Blush.
