to use a buggy for 8 year old

my 8 year old is not well. but i really need to go out tomorrow. as i need to registar babys birth. its meant to be done 42 days after birth but hes 6 weeks so im already late doing it and i cant council because it would take to long for the next appointment. plus i need to go to the council and could be sitting there for hours.... i dont have anyone to leave him with.

or do i give him calpol and get him to walk as he 8 after all

Is the dad around?

I wouldnt put an 8yo in a buggy. Taxi there and back if its too long a walk, if not, and illness is a cold or similar rather than a broken leg.

Of course if he fits in you can use it. He's ill. I guess if you could go by car you would.

Personally I would give him calpol and use the buggy.

I have done that before, DS had chest infection, DS2 needed his jabs, so DS2 in a sling and DS1 in pushchair. Had to walk 15 minutes. If people look, let them look!

Will he even go in the buggy? My nine year old would be mortified, not a hope would she get in, not that i would suggest it to be honest, if he is so sick he can't walk he has no business outside IMO.

my dd (8) used ds's buggy, when I had to pick ds up from school - she had very bad asthma and was just washed out. She was ok doing it, and I couldn't give a flying what anyone else thinks.

Do what you have to do.

Will you be able to push it with an 8yo in? I totally understand why you would, if you have a temp and feel light headed, walking is the last thing you want to do. A taxi would probably be a lot easier though.

he will go in a buggy he wont care. yes he will fit...hes ill as in head really hurts hes dizzy.body is hurting and crying/sleeping alot. late registaring because there were no avalible appointments....dad not around. taxi would be about 20 pounds. i can get a bus for 3.00....

In all honesty, who gives a shit what others think...if you need to do it (and can without injuring yourself- I'm presuming baby is in sling?) then do sp.

Use the buggy, do whatever is best for you and ds and don't give it another thought. I'm sorry, it sounds like a tough situation and I wish you had someone who could drive you and someone else who would sit with with ds.

If the child is that poorly take him to the doctors not the registry office.

If you really have to go tomorrow then just pop him in the buggy. Will u manage to push it along with taking the baby though?

yes i will do what i need to do :) its not like im going out for the sake of it. i need to get theses couple of things sorted

How long has your 8 year old been poorly? Perhaps a visit to the GP is required as well.

It's shocking that you haven't been able to get an appointment to register your baby before now. How do they expect people to register their babies within 42 days if it is impossible to do so?

Well for a start I'd be postponing the registration appt. there's no immediate rush just because they say six weeks - they will not fine you if you call and explain the situation. And try and postpone the council too. If your ds is too ill to walk then the best place for him is at home. I'd struggle to push an 8 year old in a buggy.

Of course it's fine (unless he is going to be sitting in a crowded waiting room infecting people, but he'd do that however you got there).

My youngest is 5 but I keep the pushchair in case of illness/sprains etc.

maras he does not need to go gp for a general bug. if i dont go registry office how do i registar my baby?

If he is dizzy etc surely he needs the doctor If it's been going on for days? I'd not take a sick kid out because I couldn't be arsed to get off my Arse to do aeon thing earlier. How do you even know he will still be sick tomorrow anyway?
