Am I right in thinking that to be granted leave to appeal, you need to demonstrate either a technical legal issue that needs to be resolved, or new evidence that could not have been brought to the original trial. What you can't do is keep going back and presenting the same evidence in slightly different ways, in the hope of a different verdict.
