to not put DS into fresh pajamas every night?

I'm trying to cut down on the amount of washing we do. WIBU to put him in worn pajamas? He has a bath every night and gets changed out of them first thing to go to school, then they just get tossed in the hamper to be washed.

Seems to me he could get more wear out of them but DH thinks I'm being a skanky skank. Am I?

We recycle 18 month old DS' pyjamas if we can. Depends on whether he gets milk all over them in the attempt to feed himself breakfast. If he doesn't they go back on that night.

Not skanky at all- very unenvironmentally friendly to keep washing clothes when they're not dirty.

Wash every second or third night here.

We wear pj's generally for 2-3 nights and then wash them. Never heard of anyone having fresh on every night.

Not skank at all! DDs jimjams come off after breakfast and hang on the arm of the chair for the next night. As long as she hasbt slopped her breakfast on them that is.

Its not like they sweat when they are that little. I wear my own pjs two nights in a row.

Unless he's running marathons in them, or having accidents, they are fine for a few nights wear.

You go through 7 pairs of pyjamas a week? Why?? Do you do this with your own nightwear? Unless they are dirty ie spilt breakfast, I let my ds wear his for about 4 days.

My kids wear pjs again as long as they haven't come downstairs and eaten breakfast in them etc. generally I try to get them to take them off and leave on bed to be reworn. 3 nights ish.

If he's old enough to go to school then I'm assuming that he's old enough not to slop his breakfast over his jimjams every morning. The only time I changed jammies every day was with toddlers who spilled all over them. Otherwise, no. I don't know how you'd keep up with the washing - I struggle as it is!

If he's pre-teen then YANBU. Especially if he's in nappies.

Freshly bathed children's bottoms don't get that skanky after one wear.

As a child a pair of pyjamas/nightie probably would be worn four or five times - unless something happened to really dirty it. Mind you, 'back in the olden days' we only had a bath once or twice a week too.

I sometimes wear a nightie or pj top to bed- i'll wear it a couple of times unless it gets really sweaty.

DS now sleeps in tne buff - but when he was little his pjs would be worn a few nights too.

His argument is that it's nice for him to get into fresh, nice-smelling pajamas just after getting out of the bath. Mine is that he's four and would just as happily sleep in a ninja turtle costume, and doesn't give a shit

We don't have a tumble dryer anymore, so we're drying everything inside at the moment because the weather is awful. We've changed our habits, wearing items of clothing multiple times (tbh I always did this anyway), but he's being weird about DS doing it for some reason.

My DCs have clean pyjamas on every night because they are hot sleepers and sweat so much at night!

Unless they are genuinely dirty - breakfast down the front - the get changed wheen thy have a bath so two or three times a week.

We are thinking the same thing, ds has fresh pjs every night as do I but we now have 2 dc and we have to do a wash load at least once a day or things get out of control.

The problem is that ds eats his breakfast in his pjs so they often get grubby then as he's only a toddler.

We are really lazy about changing our sheets, I'm not sure why clean pyjamas are important to me.

My 2.6 year old will wear the same pjs a couple nights in a row. Obviously if she's dropped breakfast/milk on them then we don't.
Even the baby reuses if for some miracle his sleep suit is clean after breakfast!

DS wears fresh jammies every night he's 4. I've never really thought about it before. I think I've just continued even though he's out of nappies. Would definitely have fresh every night when he was smaller because pee nappies stink!

Clean PJs every night here for a just about to turn three DS. Not sure why as I'm not fastidious (by MN standards) about anything else but freshly washed PJs, warmed on the radiator, after a lovely bath are non negotiable. No reason not to reuse though I suppose!

Really? I have never heard of that before! PJs get changed once or twice a week in this house unless food has gone down the front. Am I really skanky?

clearly we are quite skanky here - unless there is nappy leakage or breakfast spillage ours do a week! no tumble dryer here either so we re-wear as much as possible. I often babywipe small marks/spills so things can be worn again. then again, our bedlinen is on for more than a week (usually 2, sometimes 3) so clearly not in line with MN rules!!

Never heard of doing that. Mine hopefully get washed once a week.
