To silently judge all those with non capitalised usernames

Consider these two usernames:

  • QuacksLikeADuck
  • quackslikeaduck

IMHO the first one is clearer, easier to read and just looks better!

AIBU to judge a username by its capitalisation and to secretly attribute the following characteristics to the owner of said username...

People with capitalised usernames are:

  • More organised
  • More punctal
  • Neater

People with uncapitalised usernames are:

  • Scatter brained
  • Always late
  • Messy

And even if your username is only one word it should still start with a capital letter!

OK I know IABVVU, and I am probably offending a good 50% of you right now! That's the point of AIBU innit?

But... am I right? Grin

Yanbu

Although the 'i' instead of 'I' used in sentences is far more scary....

getdownshep · 20/11/2014 09:49

Obviously I'm going to disagree, judge awayGrin

FreeWee · 20/11/2014 09:51

smug face

tywysogesgymraeg · 20/11/2014 09:51

It might be worth checking if the people who post on the Pedants' Corner threads are more likely to have names with capitals.

I'm off to change my name now so I have a capital G in the middle.

DidoTheDodo · 20/11/2014 09:51

I'm not in the least offended!

hoppus · 20/11/2014 09:52

I'm just here to wave my little h in your face.

nyzz · 20/11/2014 09:52

Judge away!

rebelfor · 20/11/2014 09:52

I suppose I could be offended, however, yes, the characteristics you've mentioned could describe me Blush

CommanderShepard · 20/11/2014 09:52

I'm pathologically untidy, personally.

nyzz · 20/11/2014 09:53

BTW, being really thick but how do you change your username?

TywysogesGymraeg · 20/11/2014 09:55

Is this better? Smile

gamerchick · 20/11/2014 09:55

Heh I thought of changing the middle letter to a capital when I read that Grin

EElisavetaofBelsornia · 20/11/2014 09:55

I am untidy, pathologically early, and have an extra capital in my username.

smokinggnu · 20/11/2014 09:56

Go on. Judge. Maybe it'll improve your day? I like to help people keep their antisocial need for superiority ticking along Smile

LostInWales · 20/11/2014 09:56

Chaos is that you in disguise?

magimedi · 20/11/2014 09:57

I am the most punctual person I know.

I am very tidy & organised.

I am a shit typist & often press caps lock instead of Shift & would end up getting my name wrong all the time.

YABVVU1

magimedi · 20/11/2014 09:57

See - I didn't press shift & ended up with 1 instead of !

!!!!!!!!!!!

LidlMermaid · 20/11/2014 09:57

I capitalise correctly, obviously, but perfectly fit the profile of a messy, scatterbrained non capitaliser. Maybe I should lose my capitals so as not to mislead people as to my true nature?

BreconBeBuggered · 20/11/2014 09:59

I think capitals fit in better here. I have usernames elsewhere that look better as lowercaseuser. I don't know why that should be the case. Even here, some names look perfectly natural in lower case and would become wrong if corrected.
I'm off to pick the splinters out of my arse now.

OpalQuartz · 20/11/2014 09:59

I use capitals but I am

  • Scatter brained
  • Always late
  • Messy
QuacksLikeADuck · 20/11/2014 10:00

Much better TywysogesGymraeg as I have to say, I had no idea where one word ended and the next one began before you did that!

all lowercase is easier on the eye. using capitals looks crap as there is no spacing.

ShesAnEasyWuffer · 20/11/2014 10:02

Although my 'she's' doesn't have an apostrophe....

GlaceCherries · 20/11/2014 10:03

Maybe I should be docked a capital as I am chronically late... Grin
