Honestly, I love people who smoke. They tend to be way more interesting than non smokers.

I like the way smoking smells too.

Mmmm lovely fags.

Thanks for the flowersSmile

I'm not stupid eitherWink And much as I love my faaaags I also know that they aren't one of my 5 a day!

My sis is doing well on the vaporizer and I miss my dad every day soooo... Yep, I'll still always love fags and pipe smoke will always hold a special place!

Plenty, those links look interesting - I'll read them tomorrow. The document I found wasn't one of those I don't think, at first glance, they're far too formal looking. I google for it every so often but suspect it was condemned to the maw of the e-shredder a long time ago!

BackOnlyBriefly · 18/11/2014 12:40

Plenty glad you found those. I must save the links this time.

It's like something out of Orwell's 1984 that the report can exist and at the same time people saying the report contains results they just made up.

Bavk

All results are equal, but some results are more equal than others.

plenty - actually my DB's SIL isn't any more able to stop than my DB is but they've both wanted, tried, agreed to stop smoking and then they're back on the bandwagon. surely you can see its easier for a couple (2 people sharing same home) to stop than 1 person? actually a good friend of mine DID stop smoking when sharing a house with her SO who smoked, I was impressed there.

I wouldn't be so bothered about this had my DB's severe asthma not impacted on my DM's/family life as a child... (and it did). And the future repercussions don't bear thinking about.

I don't hate smokers by any stretch of the imagination, I've dated smokers and got friends who smoke.

If someone lights up while I am waiting for a bus I always get near them to drink in the smell. I have never smoked, nobody in my family smokes except my dad who died very young. Getting close to smokers just brings him back to me. I know this sounds weird but if I am waiting at a bus stop in the dark I feel that he is actually there. He died over 40 years but that smell memory is so vivid.

Superfly quitting alongside another smoker is an absolute nightmare actually. Many times worse than quitting alone.

SuperFlyHigh · 19/11/2014 15:10

Jolleigh - exactly - I've heard its worse for a smoker to quit alongside another smoker and my brother and his wife agreed to quit together to make it easier for the other.

My friend quitting alongside her SO still smoking I don't know how she did it she said she used the Allen Carr method.
