Honestly, I love people who smoke. They tend to be way more interesting than non smokers.

Bit nasty as a non-smoker I had no idea not smoking made me so boring. I haven't bothered wading in on the other thread as it seemed pointless but this TAAT is goady and childish.

You are right. No-one would talk about alcoholics or drug addicts that way. It is as hard to give up and easier to get addicted to than, say, alcohol. I guess smokers are easy scapegoats, like people on benefits. Easy to feel superior to. I dunno.

The blame should be on the tonacco companies and the governments who let them get away with so much. The same tobacco companies who are cashing in on vapor cigarettes now.

I have already said up thread I am being tongue in cheek. I'm trying to show another side to smokers the balance the vitriol on the other thread.

There is nothing big or clever about smoking, it kills people. Tis not a good thing. However, people do smoke and that does not make them bad people.

YANBU. I'm an ex - smoker and miss the chat outside during fag breaks at work. My smoking colleagues at work (who started at the same time as me) know and chat to loads of people, us non - smokers are boring in comparison.

I only blame the Government for the taxes. Would love to be paying £3 for 20 again

Smokers used to be more interesting, but since all the interesting ones have switched to vaping now they are generally just the smelly grey looking ones.

Never smoked cigarettes, but I love you people who do. You don't draw your pensions as long as others, you help pay for everybody else's, and when the Chancellor canes you he ups inflation which will up my pension without upping my cost of living. You are so generous!

Everyone I know who vapes still smokes as well. They vape indoors, smoke outdoors. It's an impressive system.

usual - you are SO right. They don't whinge, or moan - just friendly banter and a good laugh. The loners are those left in the pub sitting at a table on their own while the smokers all congregate outside.

I do get your annoyance over the "I hate smokers" thread though, despite the fact that I'm a non-smoker and really hate the habit (for many reasons).
