AIBU to think that 'Leon' from Gogglebox ...

Is extremely rude and horrible to his wife?

I used to like him and find him funny. But over recent weeks I'm gob smacked at some of the stuff he comes out with. He tells June to shut up constantly and his comments about women are a bit off recently .

I'm watching it now on catch up and he's told her to shut it twice - and not in a ' jokey' way.

Horrible man

So , am I alone in this? Anyone else noticed ?

I don't know. I disliked him at first but now I'm fond of him. He obviously her and she holds her own.
Now the new family, with the two sons are awful to the mother. The husband and boys smirk at everything she says.
My favourites are the Sidiquis.

Leon is not nice to her. And his comments about women grate on me now

Yes, he says things to her that my DH wouldn't dare say to me but they're a totally different generation Grin

Don't get me wrong - I used to think he was funny. Now I just notice so much more - and honestly , he's really derogatory and plain fucking rude to her.

I'm not sure if it can be excused as a generational thing tbh

i often wonder about the Mrs Siddiquis...I bet they are all off doing something

did one of the sons not get married and/or have a child in the last series....sure he was not there on the sofa once and Voiceover lady said where he was.

Maybe Mrs Siddiqui is dead, maybe they are divorced, maybe she doesn't like watching television, maybe she doesn't want to appear on tv! doesn't take an enormous imagination.

FGS you are reacting as though a household with no women in it is unimaginable.

Leon and June are adorable. June gives as good as she gets. I still remember the episode where he was in tears saying he didn't know how he could carry on without her

I love Leon - I think that's just their relationship - she nags him, he tells her to shut up! They're obviously very in love though. I'd love if he was my grandad. :o

Adore the Siddiquis, they just seem all so lovely and very funny!

Not so keen on the family with the German dad or the new family either.

I love Leon, he absolutely adores June. There was an episode last year when they were watching 24 hours in A&E (I think), he ended up in tears saying he couldn't cope without her. He couldn't talk about her dying, he said he can't even think about it.

He is of a totally different generation, it was the "norm" to make comments on women's appearance, times have changed.

Mrs Mrs Siddiqui and her Mum are very much alive, and one of the sons is fairly newly married.

Perhaps they don't want to take part in the show.

Just because he cried at a programme doesn't make it acceptable to nastily tell her to ' shut it' does it?

I assume George's family were booted off due to him being in celeb big brother? Wonder if they regret that now.

Leon is a bit of a perv.

Heard George's family interviewed and they knew CBB would be the end of googlebox but where fine with it because he earned enough to buy a house so too good an opportunity to miss (they get paid little for gogglebox)

I've never noticed that about Leon, I think it's just showing off for the camera and he does obviously really love June.

The new family are absolutely horrible. The dad is vile - rude, thuggish and aggressive. I loathe him and they're such a bunch of meat heads (the men) that they're hardly ever featured. I bet the production company draw lots on who gets to go through footage of them 'please not me again...'

The B&B owners have children who never appear, and the family with the German husband- the mute one is the daughter's son. I watched with bemused non comprehension the first time and now I love it. The more you get to know them the more interesting they are. Familiarity breeds fondness!
