Is extremely rude and horrible to his wife?

I used to like him and find him funny. But over recent weeks I'm gob smacked at some of the stuff he comes out with. He tells June to shut up constantly and his comments about women are a bit off recently .

I'm watching it now on catch up and he's told her to shut it twice - and not in a ' jokey' way.

Horrible man

So , am I alone in this? Anyone else noticed ?

Seeing baby Siddiqui (was it Amelia) this week totally made my day. Maybe I'm too invested, but I've wondered about her. What a gorgeous baby. Still, they are a good looking family.
I don't like Leon at all.

IfNotNowThenWhen · 09/11/2014 23:15

Which are the tappers?

Mrsjayy · 09/11/2014 23:18

I think it is Amelia she is just beautiful her little halloween costume bet he has been dying to get her on for ages Smile tappers are the familiy with the boy and girl the big dad and mum with curly hair mum and dd are so loud

HamAndPlaques · 09/11/2014 23:18

I love Steph and Dom. They are clearly so madly in love with each other and look like a lot of fun.

I'm pretty sure that the dad from the other Liverpool family is Austrian, not German, though. That was why he enjoyed the episode of Dad's Army so much this week Smile

AimlesslyPurposeful · 09/11/2014 23:30

Not keen on Leon either. He comes across as very self important - Sitting in his chair while June brings him endless cups of tea.

The Vicar is very unpleasant. Never a nice word to say about anything or anyone. I imagine she became a Vicar so she could spew venom without being challenged.

Love the Siddiquis, Sandra and Sandy, Steph and Dom.

Aeroflotgirl · 09/11/2014 23:32

I think Leon and June have quite a bit of banter, and she is quite a strong lady.

Behoove · 09/11/2014 23:32

Agree about the vicar. Strangely she isn't very Christian!
Her first thought when the rocket crashed was about Richard Branson, really it should have been for the dead pilot and his family.
Weird.

emotionsecho · 09/11/2014 23:34

Aimlessly, the vicar is unpleasant and sneery and appallingly self-righteous, not a very good advert for Christianity.

Echocave · 09/11/2014 23:35

I do love the Siddiquis too. Do they know how many people like them? They're thoughtful but also quite dry and the dad has a comedy twinkle in his eye.

I think the Geordie girl is really hilarious. Her Mum just dotes on her. Her comments about the Joey Essex programme made me chortle a bit.

Echocave · 09/11/2014 23:38

I do wonder with the vicar whether any of her colleagues/congregation ever watch it and judge her for some of the things she says. I think she just likes the sound of her own voice a bit and doesn't actually think before she speaks sometimes. Interesting qualities in a vicar Confused

VitoCorleone · 09/11/2014 23:39

I hate Sandy and Sandra, they play up waaaay too much for the cameras, screaming whilst watching Jurassic park? As if they've never seen it before Hmm

Hate Leon, always going on about women, don't know how his wife puts up with it

I love the Siddiquis tho, they crack me up, also love the family with the son and daughter, the dad is Greek? Cant think of their names

Whenever the vicar is on all i can see is that dogs back legs and its balls hanging out Shock Grin

emmelinelucas · 09/11/2014 23:45

I think Leon is very much of his time. My dad was like him, and my mum gave as good as she got as well.
Amy Tapper is a real daddy's girl. She obviously adores him, and I think they are a very close, loving family.

MyOneandYoni · 09/11/2014 23:49

i LOVE the Vicar. Think she is totally genuine...

JennySense · 09/11/2014 23:50

Leon is of his age. It's June who is in charge....
Very Northern matriarchal dynamics.

Mrsjayy · 09/11/2014 23:50

I like the tappers but they are very very shouty, yy the geordie girl is funny really quick dont like the caravan couple yet and that hairdresser needs to wear socks his feet in my face every week sandy broke the new sofaworks couch not a great advert is it Grin

26Point2Miles · 09/11/2014 23:53

Kate is the vicar at 'our' church...she is exactly as she is on tv. She's actually vicar to 3 churches in various local villages. V v normal

26Point2Miles · 09/11/2014 23:53

I love the girl ( Moffat) too, actually think they all are likeable

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 00:02

I like Rev Kate

emotionsecho · 10/11/2014 00:05

26Point4Miles if Kate the Vicar is the same off screen as on it would put me off attending any church she was officiating in.

Echocave · 10/11/2014 00:11

I don't think Kate is horrible, she just sounds immature and like a mouthy teenager at times.

AimlesslyPurposeful · 10/11/2014 00:11

26Point4Miles - When you say she's "v v normal" do you mean she's just like everyone else or that she's her normal self on tv?

I remember watching her pontificating when the dog kicked her DHs cup of tea and it spilt on him. She was most aggrieved to have been interrupted. Didn't ask if he was ok having had a hot cup of tea spilt down him. Completely unconcerned. Just cross that he'd stopped her enjoying the sound of her own voice for a few seconds.

KillmeNow · 10/11/2014 00:36

My favourites are
Sandy and Sandra . I dont care that they play up to the camera. They are there to entertain and by gum they do that.I always laugh a lot at their antics and seemingly (but I know they aren't) genuine expressions .

Steph and Dom ditto for almost the same reasons

The Tappers because they are such a loving family. I love the way Josh leans against his Dad and puts his arm round him as they watch TV.

Leon and June because they although it appears that Leon is the master n hi house it is patently obvious that June rules the roost and is too polite to point this out in the presence of cameras. Leon is a naughty 80 year old boy trying to get the attention.

poolomoomon · 10/11/2014 08:45

It's obvious with the Siddiquis that the mother has either died, they're divorced or she doesn't want to appear on television. Same for the wife of the one son with the baby. I don't think either son actually lives with the dad, they just go round to watch TV with him in the evenings and keep him company. I think it's sweet, I love the Siddiqui's.

ANYWAY! I really loved Leon and June but this series he is starting to grate on me. He can't watch a programme without passing comment on the woman in it and it's almost always linked to her appearance. Even if he compliments a woman it's usually finished with a negative comment so it'll be something like "Pretty girl. Legs are too skinny though." I don't mind the way he speaks to June too much, that's clearly how he shows he loves and adores her. It may seem twisted and warped to some people but I get it, I tell DH to shut up if he's talking over the TV too Grin. And she clearly holds her own.

I like the dad in the new family, he looks like a potato. I love the way his head just swivels to look at the others and that's his only movement. Really makes me chuckle Grin. Don't really miss George and family this series, he always got on my nerves constantly seeking the dad's approval .

poolomoomon · 10/11/2014 08:51

Should have said I meant the Siddiqui son's wife probably doesn't want to appear on TV. I know she's not died, I follow on twitter Blush. Probably am too invested in this show... I don't like the UKIP family with the Greek dad, the kids have very irritating voices and ever since they stated they vote UKIP last series my respect went down the drain.

Steph and Dom are brilliant. The family with the German step dad also great, he really makes me laugh.

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 08:55

Did they really say they voted ukip I don't remember that I did go urgh when she thought Nige was a decent bloke. She is quite whiney though
