Is extremely rude and horrible to his wife?

I used to like him and find him funny. But over recent weeks I'm gob smacked at some of the stuff he comes out with. He tells June to shut up constantly and his comments about women are a bit off recently .

I'm watching it now on catch up and he's told her to shut it twice - and not in a ' jokey' way.

Horrible man

So , am I alone in this? Anyone else noticed ?

That's one of the things I love about Leon. He hates Nigel Farage.

Yes the Brighton family are ukip supporters. The dad is also really homophobic but I can't be the only one who wonders if the son is gay. I feel sorry for him if he is, he'll have a hard time with such a homophobic dad.

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 09:08

Dd did say that the boy was very camp Grin

mousemates · 10/11/2014 09:12

I hate Leon with a passion. He's a horrible old man who's misogynistic and sexist. I find it repulsive that people excuse his behaviour saying 'its a different generation' whereas if we were on TV being so judgemental about ethnic minority people, such 'generational' excuses wouldn't be tolerated and quite rightly.

He also scratches his bollocks waaaay more than is healthy.

I hate the new family from Manchester as well. The sons seem like they've had lobotomies and the dad is a right miserable bastard.

ConkerTime · 10/11/2014 09:13

My Dad would be of a similar age to Leon and didn't comment endlessly on young women's appearance, so I don't accept the generational point.

mousemates · 10/11/2014 09:18

if he not we.

NancyRaygun · 10/11/2014 09:24

I LOVE Leon, mainly because when he watched a news item on immigration and people climbing onto lorries at Calais he said [paraphrasing wildly] "If I was there, at Calais...I would not refuse them. They are people who are desperate and if they needed a lift over, I'd not refuse them" which struck me as a very human and wise viewpoint.

The Siddiqui family are by far my favourite. I also love the tipplers from Kent - they strike me as being so in love!

AnotherGirlsParadise · 10/11/2014 09:25

I've just always assumed that the Siddiquis' partners weren't willing to take part in the show - I understand that, you need to be a certain kind of person to appear on TV willingly every week. I love what a previous poster said about the 'comedy glint' in the eldest Siddiqui's eye - spot on! They seem like a lovely family.

Mind you, Steph and Dom's dachshund Gigi is my absolute favourite Smile

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 09:32

I read somewhere that Mrs Sidiqui just didn't want to do it which is fair enough. Gigi was hilarious on friday steph and dom were dancing Gigi looked at them as if to say feck that im off and jumped off the couch.

Haushinka · 10/11/2014 09:32

I think Leon is just bantering with June but I've gone off him because I've heard him say a certain presenter is too flat chested twice.

I love the comments the German guy makes, he seems such a nice funny guy.

IfNotNowThenWhen · 10/11/2014 09:35

Oh, yes, the Brighton son is camp as Christmas! I don't know about the tappers.I quite like the Dad, but the daughter gets on my tits. She seems really REALLY dense.
I don't mind Vicar Kate. She just seems like a typical bolshy Northern mare like me. A lot of the time she is negative about things like David Cameron, which, given his attitude to the meek, seems quite Christian to me!

mousemates · 10/11/2014 09:42

I really love Sandy and Sandra. The larger lady (not sure which is which) reminds me so much of my mum. I also love that they seem to have take away every fucking night. Brilliant.

maninawomansworld · 10/11/2014 11:17

Ive gome the other way with Leon. I didn't much like him to begin with but now I have definitely warmed to him.

honeypie10 · 10/11/2014 12:24

We love the siddiquis in this house too, Loved the elvis impression the son did the other week!

Love most of them in fact just wish the 1 hairdresser would tone it down with the hair/beard dye. I always want to adjust the redness on my tv when he comes on its too reddy!

Cant stand the Geordie girl though, she's obviously pushed her parents into doing the show, they hardly say anything just sit there giggling at her while she tries to make a tv career for herself. And the 2 men under the tits picture?? I dont get how they thought they would make good viewing, alive heard them talk about is dictionaries.

babbas · 10/11/2014 12:35

Went right off brighton family after they declared ukip support and mums love for nigel. In fact I know someone who knows them and apparently they are far more right wing than they let on. Ironic considering dad is greek. Mum is woo whiny and whimpering for me.

Love the son though. And my faves are the siddiquis and posh couple. And cant get over the amount of takeaways the sandys eat. V jealous.

OpalQuartz · 10/11/2014 12:41

Sorry, not read whole thread, just the OP, but I think June gives as good as she gets. It may not have been shown so much in recent episodes, but based on previous episodes I think they are fairly equal (but Leon is a bit of an old perv.) I love their political views though and always agree with them.

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 13:18

Best sadiqui comment ever watching a ukip ppb son sadiqui well thats me sold Grin

squoosh · 10/11/2014 13:31

The Siddiqui's dry wit is fantastic.

Behoove · 10/11/2014 15:02

Loved that too. They look like a close family, so nice.

areyoubeingserviced · 10/11/2014 15:14

The Siddiquis are grea;.they seem really lovely
Think that the Geordie girl is very intelligent and funny.
I like Sandy and Sandra
Like Leon and June
Dom and Steph are sweet

HoldMeCloserTonyDanza · 10/11/2014 15:36

I completely understand Mrs Siddiqui not wanting to do it but I do wish she'd come on just once so we could see what she's like!

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 10/11/2014 15:51

Gogglebox is one of my favourite programs. Love it.

Now Sandy or Sandra who drinks out the pot noodle pot. Is that an old pot noodle pot or a beaker designed to look like a pot noodle pot?

The Moffats live a 10 min drive away from me and they are not geordie as they are not from Newcastle (unless Im mistaken that geordies are from other places in the NE too, but Im sure the Mackams etc would have something to say about that Grin ) I do keep an eye out to see if I ever bump into them though. I do think that the daughter was the one who got the family onto the show. She seems to sing a bit now too. And she was in an MTV show previously or so I read. Nice family though.

Dont really like Leon anymore as he does seem to becoming a bit pervy. though I agree June rules the roost in that house.

Dom and Steph are great, I wonder how many more people visit their B&B since gogglebox.

We also like to see what tea cosy Rev Kate is going to have next. Love how they have a teapot for just the two of them.

I would imagine that the whole program is edited quite well though and we might not be getting the full picture of what the people are actually really like. Silent Jay might actually speak quite a bit really, but he is edited to look like a miserable sod who doesn't want to be there.

Id like to be on Gogglebox, but DH wont and I can hardly have a conversation with myself (although I do quite a lot, but not where people can hear me I hope) and I would have to watch crap like Downton Abbey.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 10/11/2014 16:04

I know rev Kate. She definitely used to be on mn but no idea if she still is.

ZingOfSeven · 10/11/2014 16:13

I really dislike him telling her "show us your knicks"Confused
I mean ffs, June, no disrespect, but please don't

ZingOfSeven · 10/11/2014 16:15

Steph and Dom are my favourites though.
and the young man who said "we'd be still cavemen living in caves wondering what the fuck fire was"Grin Grin Grin

Mrsjayy · 10/11/2014 16:16

Dd does tea cosy watch we like the owl one . I read maybe on here that the parkers hold expensive sex parties at their B N B oh I say Shock
