to feel happy and excited about voting YES!

I am just back from the polling booth and can say that I have never felt so positive about voting. The feeling that my vote is actually counting, rather than being swalowed up as is the case with Westminster voting, is also fantastic.

IMO a yes vote will reinvigorate the whole of Britain and, amongst other things, allow Scotland and England build better relations as equal but interdependent neighbours and allies.

Not sure interdepence is something most yes voters are going for?

WorraLiberty · 18/09/2014 13:22

YABU to start yet another thread on this subject

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:23

we will always be interdependent as we share a land mass and will work, trade and have family and friends in both nations.

God not another one!

areyoureallysure · 18/09/2014 13:24

Yawn.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 18/09/2014 13:25

I got quite emotional casting my vote. The years of reading, talking, thinking, debating and dreaming and there it was, my chance in front of me!

It felt great, like my vote mattered for the first time. My local station has been heaving all day.

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:25

worry Fair enough, but I just couldn't help myself! I have never felt so excited!!

Yes, let's all build up more borders and separate ourselves from each other further.

atticusclaw · 18/09/2014 13:26

We will not be interdependent, just watch the borders go up. They'll have to since although we're friends now who knows what will happen in the future.

LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 18/09/2014 13:27

Area don't let the fuckers bring you down, people aren't obliged to read your thread and its perfectly clear what it's about.

It's as if exercising your democratic right in the biggest vote of our time with record turnout anticipated actually bothers some people.

ArcheryAnnie · 18/09/2014 13:28

If you win independence, how will you treat the wishes, passions and loyalties of the half of the electorate who are expected to vote no? And how would you like your wishes, passions and loyalties to be treated if you don't win?

That's what's bothering me. There's going to be so much bloody triumphalism from the winning side, whoever wins, but the electorate is pretty much divided equally in half.

Doingakatereddy · 18/09/2014 13:28

Voting yes is as exciting as playing Russian Roulette

If the answer is as you hope, the hangover will be long & painful. And you can stick interdependent & go it alone IMO

atticusclaw · 18/09/2014 13:29

I'm sad. Sad about the prospect of a yes vote and the massive implications for all of us.

SirChenjin · 18/09/2014 13:29

Oh dear....do you think you've just voted for interdependence?? Grin

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:30

atticus if I wasn't in such a good mood I would find your tone slightly threatening... no worries though!

OP posts:
LovleyRitaMeterMaid · 18/09/2014 13:31

Annie either way I'll dust myself down, maybe pop open the champagne if it goes the way I want it to, but then it's time to roll our sleeves up and get on with making the country we can all be happy with, either way.

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:33

archery either result will be dignified and we will look to the future with optimism knowing that Scotland has conducted itself so well during his campaign despite a barrage of sneering and criticism from many quarters.

Wake up OP, you're asleep and dreaming. Remember Yugoslavia?

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:36

it is quite touching that people are so caring and concerned however about our future.

OP posts:
ArabellaTarantella · 18/09/2014 13:37

If you want to go it alone I honestly don't give a furry fuck about your future. And that's being brutally honest.

UsedtobeFeckless · 18/09/2014 13:38

Well, which ever way it goes Scotland will have more decision making powers than it did ... Which is good, right? ( Picks out fence-sitting splinters Grin )

mrsruffallo · 18/09/2014 13:39

I'm with Arabella. I would be strongly against interdependence of any sort.

area52 · 18/09/2014 13:40

arabella or Norway?

OP posts:
mrsruffallo · 18/09/2014 13:42

There aren't many people who would call the campaign well conducted. Showed a very nasty side at times.

mrsruffallo · 18/09/2014 13:43

Scotlands no Norway though is it?
