I know I am not BU. I am going to post it back to Sun HQ in an unstamped envelope ( will probably tear it into pieces before I do). Who will join me?

Got ours yesterday. DH was out the feont so he took it and put it straight in the recycling bin. I took it out, and sent it back to the freepost address. I have been telling everyone to do the same, and they were all delighted to do it!

For anyone questioning what the issue is with sending it - THIS is the issue.

Sorry this is to miasdaddy a couple of pages back now. The main reason why the decision was made to open the gate was because Liverpool fans at the Leppings Lane end had access to only 23 turnstiles compared with 60 for the Forest fans which caused a massive delay and people getting concerned that they would miss part of the match as kick off approached.

I'm not sure if your familiar with the layout of Hillsborough at the time but once that main gate is open and crowds of people move through together, without any marshalling to the entrances to the side pens (as there wasn't on the day) it appears that the way one should go is down the tunnel straight ahead which fans did resulting in the huge overcrowding in the central pens.

I hope that clarifies things for you.

I started reading this thread the other day and have just caught up with the most recent few pages. I am shocked. Yes Liverpool have gone on and on about this for years, not to revel in grief, but because we were aware of the inaccuracies, injustices and outright lies to have come from that day and we were fighting against the establishment to be heard.

Had certain people at the time held their hands up at the time and said 'I made a massive error of judgement and I'm sorry' then the families could have moved on, still grieving of course but able to let that grief take its natural course instead of being marred by this injustice.

Comparisons have been drawn with other tragedies - Heysel for example. The difference being that the families did not have to wait for 25 years for justice to be done following that event and that is why Hillsborough is unique and remains relevant and tragic to this day.

Upsy If there was a "Like" button I'd press it for your last post. I'm shocked that some people are as unaware as they have shown themselves to be on this thread

I thought this was funny newsthump.com/2014/06/13/sales-of-toilet-paper-plummet-after-delivery-of-free-copy-of-the-sun/

Sixweekstowait · 14/06/2014 20:42

Oxford - have you read this thread? Thought not so won't waste any effort replying!

Sorry not whole 27 pages. Know about feminist/hillsborough issue though and agree it is a rubbish paper.

FunLovinBunster · 14/06/2014 21:06

There has to be justice for the 96 who went to a football match and didn't come home. To the people on this thread who don't seem to understand this, who talk of "revelling in victim hood" god forbid that you ever have to suffer as the families and friends of the dead have. If you have nothing of empathy to say, then please say nothing at all.

happycamper80 · 15/06/2014 00:43

I personally don't like the sun. My dh buys it and quite frankly agrees with the sun view of Hillsborough. Ie the Liverpool fans caused it!!!
I just ignore him when he spouts this crap and certainly wouldn't waste my time reading the paper.
I would just chuck it in the bin.

Just what I needed to put under the cat litter tray.......
