to start escorting?

I don't know what else to do :(

Lost my job instead of being made full time as expected. Savings are gone after being part time for almost a year, can survive at most another month's rent.

I live in shared accom with two flatmates, have no partner, no family who can help me. I have a life limiting condition which rules out a few things like bar work (cannot stand for long times due to nerve damage) but refused dla/pip. It;s just me on my own and I'm sinking. At least if I escort and bank a few hundred pounds it might keep a roof over my head and a bit of food on the table for longer.

So upset and heartbroken my life has turned out like this but I don't know what to do. Escorting so I don't lose my home, a permanent address from which to keep applying to jobs seems like the only option. I wouldn't survive in a hostel and would probably have all my things stolen.

AnnieLouise what a thoroughly nasty piece of work you are. Hmm You know the rules about troll hunting - if you think someone isn't for real, report them. Don't keep banging on about how you don't believe them and dissecting everything they've said. If you don't like a thread, try fucking off and finding another one instead.

nomorequotes · 29/04/2014 17:19

OP your distress last night was palpable and I am so glad you are in a better space now (and not selling your body) stay safe and remember this is all just temporary okay!

WingsofNylon · 29/04/2014 17:19

Telesales is a good one to try, or call centre work that isnt sales. so inbound customer service stuff.

I was hired on the spot years ago for a telesales job even though i had never done it before. I really hated it and was useless but managed two weeks which gave me just enough money to cover another month of rent.

Then years after that i worked for a non sales customer service call centre and it was fine, you have to deal with a lot of anger but it will be much safer and less damaging to your well being than escorting.

Other optons could be till work where you get to sit down (most super markets) or as mentioned before admin temping.

I know how it feels. I went for a long period of unemployment and it was soul crushing. I walked 2 hours to get to an interview once and they had already filled the job.

Keep your chin up and make sure you make a choice that will make you feel better rather than worse.

I feel for you OP - glad you are feeling better and are looking at options.

I have been in your shoes too - except without your dedication to your education or nice housemates! I dropped out of uni in London, couldn't find a job, couldn't pay my rent or council tax, had bailiffs threatening me and one day in desperation I sent my details to an escort agency. I got as far as a lady from the agency calling me to discuss a meeting but I chickened out. I was glad I did, the week after I found a job in a pub - I know you wouldn't be able to do bar work with your condition but just to say, chin up and there's lots of support here for you. Just ignore the people picking a fight Thanks

Very true, Araminta, but we don't know Rock's medical details and it's a fair bet she doesn't know the ever-changing ESA criteria herself - I suggested Fightback because they will give free, specialist advice.

Yeah, tell me about it ...

neiljames77 · 08/05/2014 12:04

Don't know what you've decided to do yet but have you looked into medical trials? I did one ages ago and got £1100 for about 8 days of lying around watching telly, sleeping and playing games.

Reported!

anyname123 · 13/07/2016 20:07

Andbaby , jut out of interest, who are you reporting and for what?

Andbabymakesthree · 13/07/2016 20:11

Curvy for bumping a two year old thread and seeking to recruit.

SpiritedLondon · 13/07/2016 20:20

If you want some non judgemental advice look at an organisation called Ugly Mugs which offers safety advice for sex workers. if you're tech minded how about some online stuff. People seem to make money doing anything - showing their feet, bouncing on space hoppers and biting the heads off jelly teddies. I kid you not. There was just a programme on it this week. I'm sure you'll find it on catch up. Think v carefully about the prostitution thing - not only the safety implications but the legal implications and the stigma which is likely to follow you around and hinder your future career options. Good luck.

Can't you just get a minimum wage job in a supermarket or something?

Given this thread is two years old, I hope the op is sorted by now.
