Hundreds of vipers vaping in our fifth thread!!

Here we go! Thread five! Thread four filled in one month!

Here is a link to thread four & you can work back from there.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2017939-Nest-of-Vapers-we-continue-to-not-BU-to-carry-on-vaping?pg=1

We are all always happy to answer any question. No question is too daft or unreasonable! We all know what a minefield of terminology it is when you first take up vaping.

Here is Allergic's great summary for anyone who is starting vaping:

""A very simple guide for those who have been a bit overwhelmed by all the variety discussed on this thread. Experienced vapers either ignore, or check for errors please!

There can be a trade off to be considered around cost, variety, overall experience and hassle.

The cigalike ones are the simplest to deal with in that you just unscrew one cart & screw in another. These tend to be the type that you can buy at the local market or shopping centre for a comparatively cheap initial purchase, but the carts they use can be very expensive and tend to be limited in flavours/strengths depending on brand. They can be useful in that they are small, look the most like "real" cigs, and are the most hassle-free, but the experience really isn't as good as other methods and the cost is higher.

The next step is to have a battery and disposable tank type system (CE4 in my case) where you buy the different liquids and fill the tank yourself. The batteries last a few months to a year (about the same or a little longer than the cigalikes) and the tanks (clearomisers) last anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months - this can be extended by cleaning, but the coils inside do eventually pack in. This method is much cheaper and gives a much more satisfying experience, but has the added faff of unscrewing and topping up the tank rather than just chucking the

You can then go further and use tanks that have replaceable wicks & coils, can be stripped down & "serviced" etc. There's also a lot of variety and complexity available in the overall set-up e.g. variable voltage batteries. All these add to the hassle factor but allow the overall experience to be much better fine tuned to suit the vaper. Cost is a moot point here - you will save money using serviceable tanks, but people that get really into this can spend a fair bit on shiney new toys!

When it comes to the "juice" or liquid there's a hell of a lot of different things to consider - nicotine strength, flavour, the balance of "throat hit" vs vapour etc. But basically there are 3 ways to get the right juice which are buy ready made from a big importer (limited options), buy made to order from a smaller supplier (needs to steep for a few days), or buy the makings & mix your own (hassle, mess & steeping). These have been ordered from minimum hassle/maximum price to maximum hassle/minimum cost.

I'm a naturally lazy person and comparatively new to vaping, so I have a battery & disposable tank system, and am currently buying imported juice (Hangsen pineapple and Smartjuice Red tobacco flavour) which I know has steeped plenty while being shipped over and both brands have very good quality control. I will probably go directly to mostly mixing my own once I get a bit more money at the end of the month to buy all the bits & base liquids, though will probably continue buying the Smartjuice tobacco flavour because I like it so much! I doubt I will go down the road of serviceable tanks unless I get a nice glass one eventually."

Well I'm enjoying my mvp2, but seem to be having a leaking issue. Sometimes where the clear bit meets the battery, and sometimes outside the clear bit itself. Also, when I fill it up it bubbles a good bit, but according to manual I'm not filling it over or anything.

Please help I'm tempted to buy a blingy one but I like this one! X

ginmakesitallok · 09/04/2014 22:40

Which tank are you using shona?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 10/04/2014 01:48

Maggie, there's a good suggested policy document from ASH which is broadly in our favour. I can't link easily from this toy computer but if you Google ~ will you permit or prohibit e cigarette use on your premises ~ you will find it.

ArrivedAtPanicStation · 10/04/2014 04:00

did anyone ever order from pixie juice? my god, it was amazing.

When she closed her store I gave up vaping altogether because nothing I found tasted that good.

She did a jammy dodger juice, and mint choc chip

MaggieMcGill · 10/04/2014 08:25

Thanks Plenty, I did look at the ASH website last night and came across quite a few good bits that I'll send off today.

unicornpoop · 10/04/2014 08:37

arrived omg jammy dodger??? Mmmm that sounds so good, did it actually taste like them? Im a bit wary to try many sellers of juice because I've tried a five or six now and a couple have been amazing and a couple have been utterly crap. Have you tried liberty flights? They're my favourite so far.

I ordered a Vamo V5 from Myepack yesterday afternoon and it arrived this morning Shock. I also got 4 bottles of 24mg juice because I was using 36mg last time I tried vaping instead of smoking and it wasn't strong enough. OMG it has almost blown my head off! Way stronger than a normal fag, it's more akin to well, you know ...

I have a few questions if anyone can help?

I bought a couple of iclear16 Dual Coil Clearmizers and I'm not sure if I'm using them right. I had such a job getting the juice in them. The juice bottles are rigid plastic but you have to squeeze them to get the juice out. I really struggled to half fill one and now it's making a bubbling, popping noise when I press the battery button. Is this normal? I did unscrew the bottom where it attaches to the Vamo a little because the drag was too hard when it was done up tightly.

I have no idea what I'm doing with voltage/wattage but I'm happy to leave that alone at the moment.

Am I doing ok?

Shonajoy · 10/04/2014 11:17

Ginmakesitallok I'm using the tank that came with it,to be more precise but iobt know what kinds it is. I'm on the verge of buying a new one for next day delivery as I can't cope without it!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 10/04/2014 11:31

that clearo is an iclear 30, shona. my mvp came with one of those too and I didn't get on with it. The good news is you can use any clearomiser on it.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 10/04/2014 12:18

Bubbling and popping is fine, Jazzy, as long as it's not gurgling when you draw on it. Make sure you keep the wicks wet though.

Shonajoy · 10/04/2014 12:26

Ginamakesittalk and pure garden I found one of these I bought in pink a while a go, and it's working much better. No bubbling or popping fingers crossed only it seems a bugger to fill. Well I can cope with that now it's working. Has anyone every complained I got mine on amazon and I'm a bit pissed off- if I hadn't bought this I'd have been stuck all weekend, rocking in a corner, weeping x

Hey, does anyone want 5ml of Spearmint 12mg from JooseJuice, I can't stand it so it will be going in the bin unless anyone wants it.

JazzyCardi · 10/04/2014 13:30

Thanks Plenty. I've just realised I've been using it in Mean mode so I've changed it to RMS and put the voltage right down to 3. I don't know if that's right but it isn't giving me such a head rush anymore, which is good.

ArrivedAtPanicStation · 10/04/2014 14:48

Unicorn It tasted JUST like jammy dodgers. All her ejuices were spot on. Never tasted anything like them, such a shame she closed. She also did doughnut, and you pick the flavour jam that was in it. Vanilla custard. oooh and she did raspberry ice tea which was AMAZING.

And with her ice cream flavours she added a cooling effect.

I have tried liberty flights but i can't remember what I had or what it was like. I used to get a peach one from health-e-vape that i enjoyed.

ginmakesitallok · 10/04/2014 15:00

Shona, have you checked that the head is tightly screwed in and that it's all tightly screwed together?( probably a stupid question!)

Shonajoy · 10/04/2014 15:11

Yes, to the best of my ability lol, am using the clearomoser is posted above, and it's working but still bubbling sometimes x

SoleSource · 10/04/2014 16:56

Panicking a bit as I have ran out of tripe menthol.

Does anybody use an even stronger menthol than the Dekang triple menthol?

Reasons to use an e cog are

  1. No smoke
  1. No tar
  1. No ashes
  1. No stink
  1. Cheaper
  1. Breathe easier
  1. Feel better
  1. Tastes better
  1. No second hand smoke
magimedi · 10/04/2014 17:02

I hope you have some juice, Sole!

Love your e-cog!!

unicornpoop · 10/04/2014 18:37

Grin @ the cogs

arrived that jammy dodger sounds amazing I wish I could try it, and doughnut mmmmm. Liberty flights raspberry coconut ice is really good and has cool menthol added to it. Its my favourite so far I think, (bet you cant tell by how i keep going on about it haha) although their vanilla berry is a damn close second because it is sooo creamy. I keep vaping it all and not saving DP any...whoops Blush

Jux · 10/04/2014 18:53

I want tripe menthol too Grin

SoleSource · 10/04/2014 19:06
