Why don't they do the vanilla as liquid?

Ledare · 04/03/2014 19:30

They didn't used to but do now Blush

It is lovely.

Ledare · 04/03/2014 19:31

And both still must better than Hangsen. And Joose Juice.

Allergictoironing · 04/03/2014 19:38

They have their liquids made up for them in very large batches, so they only do a few flavours unfortunately. Every now & again they try a limited edition & see how many repeat orders they get; if it proves popular they may add it to their range otherwise they don't. the only exception to this I've noticed is when one of them gets really "into" a flavour, then it seems to make it onto their list - think that's why they do watermelon Wink.

Can I ask if anyone knows anything similar to EGO?
I have been using this for about six months and for the first three months loved it.
But recently I seem to behaving more and more problems: battery not charging properly, clearomisers leaking or not working at all, sweet sickly taste and actually getting juice in my mouth.
What am I doing wrong and is there an alternative product out there?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 04/03/2014 19:51

Thanks for the juice tips!

I think I'm at the same stage with juices that I was with clearos a couple of months back - I have enough, now I want better. I have a drawer full of very cheap but not all that nice juices and have settled right down onto HS RY4 / RY6 blended. I hardly even vape my gingerbread any more. I'm thinking of having a serious cull and finding just a couple more really nice juices that I like.

One I want to try is Grant's Vanilla Custard. I've heard great things about it. I've tried T Juice Forest Affair which is a very nice fruit mix. I don't really do fruit but will be buying some more for DH (who is down to 1 fag a day Smile).

Dwerf Grin I remember my excitement when I discovered a CE4 clearo would fit on my vapourlite battery. Next thing to do is see if you can prise the little plastic cap off the sucky end of an empty carto. If you can, you can refill it with whatever juice you like.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 04/03/2014 19:56

Sounds like it's all just getting to the end of its life Amicus. It's probably time to buy some new stuff. Things to think about -

-what's your budget?

  • what did you like about your setup when it was working well?
  • what didn't you like?
Allergictoironing · 04/03/2014 19:58

The EGO is a pretty standard battery, and many of those on the market at the moment have the same threading as them. Batteries don't have a permanent life & they do "die" after a few months dependant on things like usage, how often they are charged, whether they are fully discharged between charges etc. Basically any battery that says 510 or Ego type thread will fit the same clearos, chargers etc.

Clearos also have a limited life, shorter than batteries usually. There are a number of different clearos available that fit onto a 510 battery and many of them have replaceable atomisers - that's the bit that actually heats up the liquid to vaporise it. I tend to use GS-H2 clearos....

weloveourfamily · 04/03/2014 20:00

I had no idea there was a thread on here. Ive been vaping for seven months now. Using a pretty good piece of kit Grin

Allergictoironing · 04/03/2014 20:05

well list it then welove - we all like to hear about shiny kit Grin

Amicus1966 · 04/03/2014 20:55

I got my starter kit which was the EGO battery and a clearomiser with a USB charger and a bottle of juice for £22.00.
Stopped using cigs immediately and was okay for about 3 months.
I then had to fanny about replacing clearomiser a as they either stopped working after a few days or just leaked everywhere.
Have slowly gone back onto cigs due to thisHmm
Last tank I got cost me £9.00 a week ago and has leaked juice into my mouthConfused
Have also got a spare battery to make sure I always have one topped up.
Are there any similar starter kits in same price range?

Allergictoironing · 04/03/2014 21:18

I think it's a case of you get what you pay for, to a degree. PlentyofPubeGardens has linked a decent and good value starter kit just a few posts ago that should suit you, from a reputable on-line e-cig shop that a few of us have used - I would suggest that may be a good one for you to try.

Of course the BEST option is to go into a local vape shop if you have one nearby. Kit will cost a bit more, but the advice & help can be invaluable Smile

MsIngaFewmarbles · 05/03/2014 09:04

Have you seen that US cities are banning public use of ecigs in exactly the same way as cigarettes? I hope the UK take a more balanced approach.

magimedi · 05/03/2014 10:37

Can someone send me a link to where I can buy bottles - preferably 20mll size so that I can mix strengths of juice together? I'd like to dilute some of my 6 with some zero.

Liberty Flights do 30ml bottles or if you can wait Fast Tech have a range of sizes including 20ml.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 05/03/2014 11:02

I've ordered 10ml of cocomel and lemon and lime from Alchemists Cupboard in 12mg nicotine. I'm do pleased I'm managing to reduce nicotine so quickly :)

magimedi · 05/03/2014 11:09

Flowers Queen. Off to order & try not to get too much else as well!

OP posts:
PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/03/2014 15:18

MsInga and magi that's brilliant! Well done both of you for cutting down the nic.

Amicus, this is the starter kit I generally point newbies at. I think it's very good value for what it is. However, if you are at the stage of replacing kit, you might want to think about bigger batteries as those are only 650mah. If you can stretch to it, these are great! What was the £9 tank you got that leaks? Something that price should be mendable. If you don't know what it's called can you find a picture online that looks a bit like it?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 05/03/2014 15:21

So, I thought I'd put a post together about what's happening in Europe and what we can do about it ...

Where we're at now: Last week, the EU voted in favour of adopting the Tobacco Products Directive, including Article 18a (now renamed Article 20) which concerns ecigs. You can read the full text of Article 20 here. This legislation is likely to come into force in May of this year and member states will have up to 30 months to comply (but they don't have to wait that long!)

  • No device on the market today could comply with this legislation except cig-alikes with disposable cartridges - the sort produced by big tobacco and big pharma.
  • No e-liquid over 20mg/ml will be legal (18mg/ml in practice to allow for a margin of error) - an estimated one quarter of vapers use liquid above this strength and are likely to return to smoking if they cannot get it.
  • The requirement for all new devices to be approved six months before coming to market will kill innovation in the EU. Currently it is usual to see new versions of products released every few weeks.
  • The notification regime will be too expensive for small companies to comply with. 98% of the market is made up of SMEs. Meanwhile, big tobacco and pharma will have no problem absorbing the costs.
  • Restrictions on sponsorship will mean it becomes very difficult for forums, youtube channels and other sources of information to survive.

What we can do: A European Citizen's Initiative has been launched by European Free Vaping Initiative. 'The European citizens' initiative allows one million EU citizens to participate directly in the development of EU policies, by calling on the European Commission to make a legislative proposal.'

This is not just another petition. Numerous hurdles have already been cleared to set it up and secure the necessary representatives in countries across the EU. The initiative now needs 1 million 'statements of support' (basically signatures) by 25th November and for at least 7 member states to meet their 'quota' - a set number of signatures based on population.

If the required number of signatures is reached, it means that vapers themselves will have the opportunity to present their case to the EU and propose sensible legislation for ecigs to replace article 20 of the TPD.

Who should sign:

  • vapers
  • smokers, because you might want to try switching one day
  • friends and family of vapers
  • friends and family of smokers
  • people who don't like being around smokers or who worry about SHS
  • people who care about harm reduction and saving lives

How to sign:

  • Go here - www.efvi.eu/
  • Scroll down to the big green rectangle and click it
  • Fill in your info on the EU site

You will be asked to provide your full name, address and DOB. This is because this is not just another petition, it's an official EU process - they need to check you are a genuine EU citizen.

Please also ask your families, friends, colleagues etc. to sign and share on FB, Twitter or whatever else you do online.

Ladies I need help! Mine arrived today (got the basic starter pack from vision vapours.. Ego something or other? It has no instructions!

It has a little white light that blinks and I've filled it correctly (cheers YouTube!) but I'm not getting a 'hit' of it? No sign of white smoke!!!

Help!

QueenStromba · 05/03/2014 15:53

I just got an email from Liberty Flights with details on the EU decision and a link to EFVI. If all the retailers start doing that then they'll catch a lot of people who aren't part of the vaping community so don't know about it. I wouldn't have a clue if I wasn't on this thread.

QueenStromba · 05/03/2014 15:54

Can you link to what you have Lives?

magimedi · 05/03/2014 16:04

Lives I think you need to press the button five times in quick succession to turn it on.

I went back to the shop with my first one as I couldn't figure that out!!

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 05/03/2014 16:07

And are you sure it's charged Lives? They are supposed to come with a bit of charge in them, but some don't

Livesforbedtime · 05/03/2014 16:17

www.vapingvision.co.uk/products/ego-style-ce4-single-electronic-cigarette-starter-bundle.html

This is my one - the light comes on (have charged it and the light goes green so think it's full) and it makes a bubbling noise when I suck on it.. But just no 'hit!'
