The myths and arguments i've heard against them make me laugh. I am bored, and avoiding housework, So here is my list of favourites;

They look stupid (Unlike smoking?)
They could be dangerous (Better to smoke then, at least we know that is deadly)
The nicotine is different - medical nicotine is filtered - Needed replacement underwear.
You don't know if theyve put something in them (You didnt know you were eating horse for years, Clearly, any product is susceptible to this)
It's addictive (Have a gold star).

MaggieMcGill · 01/02/2014 21:27

You didn't know you were eating horse! Sorry flock that just made me proper belly laughGrin

Allergictoironing · 01/02/2014 21:43

They contain PURE NICOTINE!!!!! is another one I've heard. Well if you're talking "pure" as in no weirdy crap then yes; but if you're talking "pure" as in 100% no other ingredients undiluted with anything then duh how come you can buy it at different strengths? I gather the Nicorette inhalers (medically approved NRT) do contain pure nicotine though...

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 22:48

Pure nicotine compared to over 4000 chemicals in cigs including arsenic, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide.

Oh get me - I am quite the zealous former-smoker Grin

LedareAnsley · 01/02/2014 22:59

I think that one of the best things about e-cigs is that I no longer have to queue at the Cigarette Counter of Cunts.

It is not usually made up of smokers, but rather people who won't buy or check lottery tickets on-line and who buy scratch-cards and then scratch them off at the side AND THEN JUMP IN FRONT OF YOU.

And people who don't realise that if there are two assistants serving that you don't just walk in front of the second one ignoring everyone else Angry

Cigarette Counter of Cunts.

Has to go down as the best post of this thread, already & we are only on the first page!!

Are those the same people who wait until they get to the front then spend about 10 minutes trying to decide which of the clearly displayed scratch cards they want that day? Or the ones that wait until they get to the checkout then start to fill in their lottery cards?

You forgot the people who don't want to wait in the normal queues, so take their newspaper & flowers or their basket of groceries to the cigarette queue.

QueenStromba · 01/02/2014 23:35

I've actually managed to get liquid in my eye twice now. It stung to buggery and my eye was a bit red for a few hours but no problems other than that.

MaggieMcGill · 02/02/2014 06:49

Queen twice?! How did you manage that? X

QueenStromba · 02/02/2014 12:18

A combination of clearos that leak slightly into the mouthpiece and terrible luck.

LedareAnsley · 02/02/2014 12:21

Allergictoironing yes - they're the ones!

And the people who do a ten line lottery and only when it is printed out remember that they should all be on separate tickets.

And the, "Oh - I have to pay for my lottery, how surprising, wait while I find my purse in the depths of my shopping trolley as I had no idea I would need it while I was queueing" types.

Bastards.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 02/02/2014 12:27

It normalises smoking - No, it normalises vaping, which is a good thing because more smokers will switch.

it reinforces the hand-to-mouth action - Yes! That's why it works! A hand-to-mouth action isn't going to kill me. I have a similar thing going on with coffee.

Allergictoironing · 02/02/2014 12:28

LedareAnsley don't forget that when they DO find the purse, they are desperate to pay using all the shrapnel. After ages counting it out coin by coin, that's when they discover that they are a few pennies short & have to use a note anyway.

Just made an order for juice makings - base nicotine liquid, dilution liquid so I can get the right PG/VG mix, flavours, measuring pipettes, bottles. I have disposable rubber gloves already - anything else I've missed guys?

LucyLasticBand · 02/02/2014 12:32

not smoked since beginning of septmeber
vaping all the way.

only worry, what would li do in a power cut?
eek

LucyLasticBand · 02/02/2014 12:33

i dont kknow how i ever afforded tobacco now.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 02/02/2014 12:42

Yay well done Lucy! Flowers

I'm tempted to get one of these.

kazzawazzawoo · 02/02/2014 12:44

Has anyone used Halo flavoured ecigs?

LucyLasticBand · 02/02/2014 12:44

oh good link plenty

ilovesooty · 02/02/2014 12:46

I haven't smoked since the end of last June. I can't see me ever going back to tobacco now.

Allergictoironing · 02/02/2014 12:49

Well done Lucy!

Power cuts are one reason why I've just ordered This to add to my 2 existing batteries. With all 3 charged up, if a power cut lasted longer than my batteries I'd have more problems than just vaping!

LedareAnsley · 02/02/2014 13:05

Kazza I had a cigalike with cartridges but I only ever used it when i couldn't smoke. Swapping to a liquid-fill got me off cigarettes because of the better vapour and throat-hit it produced. Plus I found the carts were quite expensive.

I've had a look at their site and am quite tempted by their gourmet liquids - Belgian cocoa? Sounds lovely.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 02/02/2014 13:09

Brilliant sooty, well done! Flowers

I've had a couple of Halo gourmet liquids - Twisted Java and Cafe Mocha. They were ... interesting Grin

LedareAnsley · 02/02/2014 13:12

I think I remember the Twisted Java... Grin

FlockOfTwats · 02/02/2014 14:05

I think if i start doing promo work again i would likely buy one of the rechargable 10 motives. I used to buy disposable ones to take to work because i didn't want to be taking my more expensive ones - I'd be gutted if i lost my itaste stuff or it got broken and theres rarey anywhere secure to leave our stuff (We're not allowed to keep personal things on us in clubs etc).

I do some modelling and the photographers all seem to think that e cigs are great - No stopping the shoot for a fag break because i can just go sit and have a puff while they shift sets around, fiddle with camera or whatever. It feels much less rude than buggering off out for a fag.

Allergictoironing · 02/02/2014 14:21

Flock how about a cigalike battery with a mini tank system? I know someone who just can't get on with the big 510 batteries so they use that type of system. The tank has to be filled up a lot more often of course, but there's always a compromise. The one I know about fits the 808D thread batteries.
