This is now our third thread.

Thread 2 is here - with lots of useful information:

Just found This poking around - seems pretty cheap but never used that company myself so don't know how good they are. Flavourvapour do them too.

Ledaire · 20/02/2014 18:23

Thank you Flowers

QueenStromba · 20/02/2014 18:27

Fast tech do them, they're just listed as EVOD atomisers becuase they're the same:

1.8ohm
2.4ohm

I have bought them and they definitely do work with the GSH2s.

Ledaire · 20/02/2014 18:29

Oh - you can specify the ohms with Flavour Vapour.

I was having a bugger of a time this morning wondering why the clearo I had just filled was giving me dry hits on all my batteries when I realised it was the one missing the little clear plastic ring. I'd love to buy a load of those as I am always losing them down the plughole.

Allergictoironing · 20/02/2014 18:32

Thanks Queen - you always do come up trumps with info Smile Thanks.

I'm not quite sure how the ohms affect things, and therefore which I should go for?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 20/02/2014 19:55

It's all to do with ohm's law, allergic. Basically, if you use a lower resistance atomiser (say 1.8ohms) on a standard ego battery, it will be the same as using a standard atomiser (2.4ohms) with higher voltage on your twist, mvp or whatever.

I have now recoiled all my gs-h2's to between 1.8 and 2.0 ohms and they're loads better. I very rarely turn the voltage up at all although it's useful towards the end of the atomiser's life when performance tails off.

Ledare · 20/02/2014 22:54

Extremely well explained.

But I am stupid and look like this r.e the ohms.

Allergictoironing · 21/02/2014 07:25

Thanks Plenty, lovely clear explanation - this is an indicator of how slow my brain has been since I was last working, as I really should have known that! I even had to look up Ohm's law to check the formula, which I did learn back at school.

I doubt very much I will re-coil my existing atomisers (far too much faff & hassle for me) but I'll certainly make sure I get all lower resistance ones going forwards.

Ledaire there is a major difference between stupidity and justifiable ignorance - if there's been no reason in the past for you to have learned the various rules for how electricity works, and what all the terminology means, then why should you have known about ohms or even what they are? I on the other hand, damned well should have known so am very Blush.

Allergictoironing · 21/02/2014 09:16

Argh just checked up on the progress of my FastTech order. Up to now it's been saying that the carry cases were in stock, but that the batteries were due in on 20/02. Now it says cases still OK, but "restocking" next to both batteries with one having an eta of 24/02 and the other with no eta at all Sad.

crispycronut · 21/02/2014 09:59

I've just ordered the Ego C E5 and accessories from fasttech but had to stop myself getting carried away!

I'm hoping the accessories links are accurate on the site as i really didnt have a clue what i needed Blush

Ledare · 21/02/2014 11:56

That's true Allergic. I dropped physics at fourteen!

Sorry about your FastTech order Sad

crispycronut · 21/02/2014 14:37

Boots are now stocking E Cigs Shock

FlockOfTwats · 21/02/2014 15:03

New toy new toy new toy!

Got a vamo v5 and i love it.
Now, it came with two 900mah batteries. So using two 900s together. Does this equal 1800mah?

I have no idea about these style batteries at all.

OH has his itaste 134 and it looks like a beast. I am considering using it as a jabbing stick the next time a charity worker knocks on my door at 9pm and wakes my children.

KatieScarlett2833 · 21/02/2014 16:19

Ha Physics Grin
It's good to know that the zillions I am having to fork out for DS come Sept will actually have some personal benefits Smile
Do you think his degree will cover Vape Stick maintenance?
(I never even took O Grade Physics)

Ledare · 21/02/2014 20:25

Fab that your DS is going to be reading physics, Katie.

Flock, ooh - new kit. Can't help with your question I'm afraid (see above)

The toffee popcorn that I have been steeping was ready today and I am vaping it with chocolate and apple. OMG it is lovely. DD and DH keep sniffing the air in the kitchen when they come in.

Sadly, the airing cupboard will forever be known as, "your meth lab" Hmm

FlockOfTwats · 21/02/2014 22:06

Its ok, i figured it out.

Two batteries equals same MAH but higher available output.

It goes high enough with one battery so i will just use one battery at a time and have the other charging (it is telescopic so i can have one or two btteries in).

It vapes very nicely, i only paid 40 quid for it.

OH got his iTaste 134. Its very nice and a fantastic piece of kit.... but has annoyed me by not being symmetrical. I am sat across the room refusing to look at it. I want the writing to be level with the button.

FlockOfTwats · 21/02/2014 22:11

And OH got an iclear 30 (top coil) with it,which i have stolen because it vapes better on the vamo, and ny iclear30b (bottom coil) vapes better on his itaste.

I do like this top coil one.

QueenStromba · 21/02/2014 22:32

Something crispycronut didn't mention about that article is that it quotes the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency as saying that ecigs will be regulated as medicines from 2016. Have they slipped this one by us while we were distracted by the whole EU debacle?

Fluz · 21/02/2014 23:18

Hello all - new to Mumsnet and this thread (I say new... I've been lurking for a while). In brief - I've smoked for 20 years; DP's father died last week of cancer, and so DP put his foot down about me smoking in the flat. He bought me some E-Lites and OMG!

From 12-15 cigs a day I've gone down to 4 a day in the last week. AMAZING!

Then I found this thread and got VERY EXCITED about vaping. I ordered this (in pink): www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221368692166?var=520242855570&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

And then went to Joose Juice and ordered some yums (gingerbread, caramel, marshmallow, apple).

Anyway - THANK YOU all of you for making me think quitting might be possible, when until now it's been unthinkable.

FlockOfTwats · 22/02/2014 01:09

Well done Fluz! ThanksWine and even some Cake

KatieScarlett2833 · 22/02/2014 07:50

Hi Fluz Smile
If you like the e lights you will love vaping.
I can't believe it's now been 3 weeks for me without cigarettes, with zero effort or pain. I know now I will never smoke again as I prefer my stick of joy by far.
So happy I discovered vaping and these threads. Also very happy that I've saved well over £220 so far.
and I've not stuffed my face as compensation, I've somehow managed to lose 8lb

Allergictoironing · 22/02/2014 07:51

Hi Queen - the article refers to a quote made last year, which I THINK was superseded by the latest news we've had from the EU at the start of this year? Hoping so anyway!

Fluz I've managed to go from thirty a day after nearly 40 years of smoking to zero in not much over a month with a decent e-cig set up, so it really is possible even for someone like me who didn't really want to give up (even though I knew I should). Some people take longer than others; some can swap 100% on day one & some people take months, but it CAN be done. One thing I've noticed about this thread is that people aren't judgemental at all, they help celebrate every gain in how many you haven't smoked rather than telling you that you should be doing better Smile

I think once you get your pretty new EGO you'll notice the difference (for the better) between that & the cigalike E-Lites which will help you lose those last 4. That seems to be a pretty comprehensive amount of kit for the money, though I notice that as it's E-Bay the fluid is zero nicotine. May I ask what strength nicotine you've ordered from Joose Juice?

magimedi · 22/02/2014 08:41

Welcome, Fluz. I'm now nearly 18 months in of being a non smoker after more than 40 years & loving it!

If you have a local vape shop, pop in there & you'll get lots of help & the chance to try some different flavours as well.

OP posts:
ginmakesitallok · 22/02/2014 09:22

Nope mhra still intend to regulate in/before 2016. Current EU plans will restrict what's available, e.g. only liquid up to 20mg available, making diy mixing impossible.

Ledare · 22/02/2014 11:37

A month today Grin

I have never been an adult non-smoker Blush
