Inspired by the HW thread, I have been thinking about this for a while.

Arthur works for the MoM so wont be on a pittance as a head of department, even a minor one as there would surely be grades?

They eat massive amounts of expensive food having three courses at every dinner, cooked breakfast every day. When they win a load of money, instead of saving it in the knowledge that they have 4 kids still at school they blow the lot on a holiday of a month in Egypt! At the beginning of CoS Mrs W takes some silver sickles and ONE gold galleon from their vault, and then happily blows 1000 galleons on a holiday rather than see them financially secure for the next few years.

Seems to me that the reason their kids are in second hand robes and reading second hand books is because they are shit with money, not that they dont have enough.

Books.....They have to have a new Miranda Goshawk book each year, so when F&G have finished with them they could have passed one to Ron who passed it to Ginny and the older ones shared the remainder if they needed it, which is unlikely. Why have several unused copies of the same book in the family and still buy another one for the youngest student? Same with robes. Rons dress robes are second hand, but Mrs W says that Arthur has some for parties so why not lend him those (with some magically performed alternations if needed) rather than pod out for horrible second hand ones? Actually, thinking further, Mrs W is supposed to be a whizz at household stuff so why doesnt she transfigure the second hand stuff to look better?

They just throw good money after bad!

maybe he is working through it dd wears 2 bracelets slitherin and dumbledores army now there is a contradiction and a half , she loves Bellas hair and clothes

soontobeburns · 03/09/2013 21:44

Oh im most definitely a Slytherian. I always am fond of villians in movies and books.

BellaTheGooseIsDead · 03/09/2013 21:49

Grin at mrsjay's fabulous-sounding DD. Can you take the quiz for her?

SconeInSixtySeconds · 03/09/2013 21:50

I am Dobby too. Grin I am rather pleased....

musicmadness · 03/09/2013 22:23

I'm Hermione, which I'm quite pleased with Grin.

The sorting hat quiz from Pottermore puts me in either Ravenclaw or Slytherin (depending on a single question which I can't make my mind up on!) rather than Gryffindor though.

MischiefManaged · 03/09/2013 22:29

Right just done the test again as I have more time to consider my answers and came out as Bellatrix again Shock
I'm seriously fucked aren't I ?

Why can't I be Tonks ? She was cool and had fab hair

Jewelledkaleidoscope · 03/09/2013 23:38

I really dislike the pairing of Harry and Ginny together. It just makes it all a bit incestuous

He would have been much better off with Luna, a manic pixie dreamgirl if ever there was one

ChubbyKitty · 04/09/2013 01:30

I actually have a Dark MarkBlush if I wiggle the tendons in my wrist right I can make the snakes head move.

Bogeyface · 04/09/2013 01:33

That is soooooo cool Chubby , I want!

But word to the wise "Chubbykitty" isnt really a Death Eater name, you might want to consider a change.

"Ah" said Voldermort "I see that Avery, Yaxley, Rowle, Bellatrix, Lucius and ChubbyKitty are here at my summons"

I was always the Dark Lords favourite. Secretly he's a massive crazy cat man. Wink

BellaTheGooseIsDead · 04/09/2013 01:45

JKR said in her Harvard speech that she took her friends names for Deatheaters and that they were kind enough not to sue her.

She must have had pretty cool-named mates.

I can't imagine BellatrixLeGoose having the same impact.

VenusRising · 04/09/2013 01:46

I'm Luna, the polar opposite of Draco Malloy.
I'm quite like her irl. Strange!

I like the sound of manic pixie dream girl!

BellaTheGooseIsDead · 04/09/2013 02:00
Envy
confuddledDOTcom · 04/09/2013 04:42

I'm Dobby. I was a bit put out until I read it, I don't think I can complain. How does DobbyDOTcom sound?

MinesAPintOfTea · 04/09/2013 06:42

I'm dumbledore which I'm pleased with as long as I don't have to grow that beard.

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 04/09/2013 20:40

Anyone do the Harry Potter Husband test?

Clicky

I got Mrs Longbottom, so I'd be marrying Neville. I actually quite like that. Although he isn't the strongest or most intelligent, he'd always stand by me and that's the kind of man who should be in every woman's life :)

nomorecrumbs · 04/09/2013 21:05

I got Harry. Sod that! I wanted Malfoy.

Lottiedoubtie · 04/09/2013 21:20

I got Harry too!

AintNobodyGotTimeFurThat · 04/09/2013 22:14

I'm glad I got Neville.

He's a sweetie.

Harry?

Meh, he's alright if you like that kind of thing.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/09/2013 22:25

I think we've done this before, but...

... when did Neville turn into this?

oh my

I'm too old to be oh-my'ing over Nevilles.

confuddledDOTcom · 04/09/2013 22:31

I'm Mrs Potter!

I'm happy with that.

VikingLady · 04/09/2013 22:31

I'm Voldemort. DH laughed.

I'm stealing the covers tonight Angry

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/09/2013 22:32

... and despite oh-mying over Neville, that blasted test has married me off to Mad-Eye Moody, "higher than 97% of your peers". Cheers.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 04/09/2013 22:33

Oh, closely followed by Dudly, Snapes, then Ron.

Bugger off.

BellaTheGooseIsDead · 04/09/2013 22:41

I am already Voldemort and now my perfect man is Severus Snape.

I wouldn't mind Snape for myself, Alan Rickman he clearly needs the love of a good woman but these results are making me feel a little bit ill.

Are all the Mollies and Ginnys getting Arthur and Harry?
