to wonder why people don't get dressed anymore

or is it just where I live? everyone is wandering around in pjs, go to the shop someone's there in pjs, bobbing out of each others houses in pjs, kids on the park not dressed. I don't even like putting the bin out in my pjs am I missing a new craze or something

I did pop to the refuse room in my knickers this morning. In my defence, it was early and the two other residents on my floor are rarely seen.

But outdoors? Common as muck, innit?

Ha I'm not dressed yet. But I do get dressed to go outside, thought everyone did?

I feel odd in PJs. Once I'm up, I have to get dressed - even if it's just swapping PJ bottoms for track suit bottoms to put the bins out

I never see people in pyjamas round here, although I have recently spotted the odd teenage girl in a onesie in broad daylight.

It is a hideous trend and the sooner it goes away again the better IMO.

Local shop here in Belfast has banned slippers and onesis I work nude - life model not anything sexual - so occasionally resent getting dressed and have number of 'gym wear' outfits for going to and from work.

Myself and a friend (thru DC) used to do school run in coats over nightwear but there and back with no flashing of pj's :)

It must be just where you live.

Some peoples time must be so precious that they can't spend five minutes putting some jeans on, or perhaps it's just a self respect thing

I see girls and women in PJ bottoms at Uggs at Tesco sometimes near me and I am always a bit

I do sometimes go out looking like a scruff bag- especially if it's to late night Tesco or on a Sunday to get milk or something- but would always a) put a bra on and b) change my PJ bottoms for leggings! I mean, that's class, right?

Thankfully it's not a trend around here :)

Has anyone else noticed the trend with teenage girls to go out with massive rollers still in their hair? Usually teamed with pjs/onesie/slippers and a FULL face of makeup (read orange faces), including huge false eyelashes. Even my DD (11) rolls her eyes at the state of them.

Happens all the time where I live (teesside). I absolutely detest it. I always wonder what the older generation thinks when they see young girls walking down the street in their pjs in broad daylight.
There are war veterans who risked their lives for your freedom and watched their friends die - and you can't even be bothered to dress properly in public.
I'd say something, only they're usually not the type that would say 'oh heavens, you're right, I'll just run along and put something more suitable on then!'

I can't do it I have to get dressed almost immediately when I get up or I feel really gross!

It is a bit sad when you think about how properly people used to dress, I always think it's a shame if you go and eat in a really nice restaurant in a hotel or something and there are people wearing shorts and t-shirts.

But it doesn't really harm anyone at all, so I'm in two minds.

I work in a supermarket and the other day I saw a girl shopping in her pajamas! She was about 13 and with her mum. Mum was dressed normally (jeans, etc.) but the girl was in leopard print pajama pants, slippers and dressing gown - what?!

Forty years ago, I had a neighbour who would go down to the corner shop in her nighty, dressing gown and slippers.
Usually for fags, milk or bread.

She was about 60 then.

But I do agree there is a lot more of it about.

op dont take this the wrong way but do you live in a deprived area?(sorry not sure what word to use!)only it seems to happen more inplaces like that,my mum lives on a really rough estate and theres always people going to the shop in dressing gowns and kids playing barefoot in pjs,where i live its unheard of.

I don't know where you live, but I have never ever seen this. How bizarre.

I've never seen my next door neighbours in clothes and we've lived here since Christmas. The town centre is always full of people in pyjamas and uggs and full orange makeup, if you can be bothered to put so much makeup on surely you have an extra 3 minutes to put some clothes on? It seems like they're choosing to wear their PJs as a fashion choice not just out of laziness. Which is weird. I do live in a rough area.

no offence taken, place is as rough as a badgers arse . so your probably right about the amount of people doing it. I would feel grubby I have to get dressed soon as I'm up.

Slight overreaction is it not? As silly as public pyjama wearing looks I don't think it can be considered an affront to war veterans.

Hoppus, that's amazing - PJs in the town centre as a deliberate choice

I had a shower this morning, put on my knickers, bra, a clean top and my PJ bottoms. They are just soo comfy .
I will, however, be swapping them for my jeans when I go out later. The PJs only go as far as the bins normally.

Never see it here. Weird.
