To ask why the MN forums have such little functionality?

So, other forums let you quote other posts, or put text in different fonts/colours etc, or indicate your 'thanks' for a post. Can't be that difficult / expensive, so why are these added functions not available on MN?

I like the fact that it doesn't tell us how long someone has been here, how many posts they've made and how many thanks they've had. Just because someone has wasted half their life here been on here a while doesn't make their comments more important.

I agree buskers, it doesn't mater if ou have been here 5 weeks or 5 years. I would hate or have x amount of posts I have made known.

I also dislike that thing on some forums I have seen where it shows how many views a thread has had. So 4267 views and 53 posts.

I used to post on a forum that had quoting on it and it was a PITA. There was one member who just used to quote everybody on separate posts and it was flipping annoying. Good job that forum also had an ignore user function too otherwise it was impossible to actually hold the conversation down.

All forums are different,no need to slag off netmums because they do things differently to MN.
