www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2305111/Why-I-hate-negative-judgmental-Mumsnet--Amanda-Holden-Britains-Got-Talent-star-accuses-site-fuelling-mothers-guilt.html

Seems to be newly posted.

I think sometimes it's forgotten that famous people are actually real people with genuine feelings.

Don't agree with her about mumsnet just being negative and judgemental all the time though, really excellent support available on here.

When was that article published?

She had that baby a year ago didn't she? And went to work 3 weeks later?

But it's taken a whole year for her to notice some people on here were critical of that and respond via the DM?

Why wait so long?

Probably because this It seems a bit of a coincidence that as soon as MNers start a twitter campaign against the DM, the DM comes back with criticism of MN. I think they are just using Amanda Holden to tell their readers 'don't listen to those nasty women who use MN' is true.

And I seem to remember supporting her choice at the time.

MintyyAeroEgg · 07/04/2013 20:51

Thanks for finding that link forgetmenots.

I hope the people who are blindly supporting AH actually read it.

TheChimpParadox · 07/04/2013 21:05

A MN twitter campaign against the DM ?

So some MNs speak for us all ? No wonder MN gets some negative press from outsiders at times.

ParsingFancy · 07/04/2013 21:23

Nope, Chimp, campaigns by some MNers. No one is claiming to speak for anyone else.

TheChimpParadox · 07/04/2013 21:28

Sadly for MN we are all being clumped under the same banner.

One day it may sadly backfire and alot of the good work and support that MN does will be lost.

Lueji · 07/04/2013 21:42

Could anyone find what the DM said about her return to work at the time?

Just curious.

ParsingFancy · 07/04/2013 21:46

Really? By whom?

Other than the sort of people who say, "All MNers wear Boden and are bitches," "All people who shop in Aldi are chavs," etc.

And they'll be saying that anyway. Viz the article this thread is about.

plinkyplonks · 07/04/2013 21:47

I have to agree with her in part - I have read some horrendous, rude and disgusting comments , apparently from grown adults, on this site. There are of course lots of nice and supportive people here too. I feel the site could be better moderated so that those who want respectful, mature discussion don't get drowned out by those with their own bitter, twisted agenda.

Lueji · 07/04/2013 22:00

Found the original back to work article.
She clearly didn't read the comments by readers.

I'm afraid MN will be invaded by DM readers now!!!
Unless they have changed their minds in the meantime, of course.
Surely not...

RichPetunia · 07/04/2013 22:07

I don't know if this site will be invaded by new MN readers, but I have read MN for many years and also visit this site. An anomaly for Mumsnet?

MyBaby1day · 09/04/2013 01:25

She had a good point tbh.

How the fuck do you know how many times I have met her? You are clearly very well acquainted, having met her twice Hmm

anonymosity · 09/04/2013 01:52

tell us about it then, go on.

Bessie123 · 09/04/2013 01:55

No thanks, I choose to keep my real life private. And I have every right to express my opinion. I suggest you get back to your daily mail.

anonymosity · 09/04/2013 01:56

You are very rude and aggressive. You are the perfect example of what she has criticized about MN. Congratulations.

Bessie123 · 09/04/2013 01:57

Thanks.

And I'm pretty sure it doesn't really matter what she thinks. Or what you think.

Any press is good press...

What's that - BGT starting on Saturday did I hear you say...

fromparistoberlin · 09/04/2013 13:50

It must have been really hurtful if she read any of the comments on here, I remember them

given she experienced both a stillbirth and a late miscarriage I through the many comments were heartless in the extreme

But.....AIBU is a fucking snakepit lest we forget!!!! and yes judgy, bitchy and nasty opinions live in AIBU

the rest of the site can be lovely though

MsBella · 09/04/2013 14:17

MansView what a vile comment...

Xenia · 09/04/2013 14:32

I am always advocating a return to full time work at 2 weeks as I did and it worked well. I will keep recommending it in a world where women are being conned into taking long maternity leaves which leaves them in a very sexist position at home and with less money and is not best for babies either.
