to not understand or find 'drunk' threads funny?

I really don't understand drunk threads....

When I've been out drinking and I get home I either go straight to bed (without taking my make-up off eww) or chuck a pint of water and then go to bed.

I have no effort to do anything, but crash out in bed.

I have to gather the will power to brush my teeth nevermind switching on my laptop and starting a thread. As it really is the furthest thing from my mind.

Also I do realise that people use their phones to start threads. But when I'm out having fun with friends or my partner drinking, thats generally exactly what I'm doing. I don't think - hang on a second and whip my phone out and start a thread on mumsnet.

And I just don't find posts such as -

weifjwp uwrh fvh i ma soooooo durnk!!! wefpwehf

Funny.

I had a drink of alcohol last Christmas. This New Years Eve I had three glasses of home made wine I was given as a present. Lethal stuff. I felt down and reached out for comfort. I was at home and had been posting most of the evening.
Hope that explanation helps.

The ^&&&jsdiew threads are so few and far between, they're easier to ignore than the repeated deliberate typo threads that a lot of people find hilarious.

Horses for courses really, some people find them funny and others find them a bore but nothing to get ones knickers knotted about.

juneybean · 01/01/2013 13:30

Yes the deliberate typo threads are really starting to grate lately.

Your problem seems to be failure to take into account that other people are not you. "

This.

I don't post drunk on MN because I don't get drunk any more. But I have emailed people drunkenly in the past and yes, my typos are pretty bad (but go unnoticed until the next day). Therefore I tend to find the drunk threads (YES WE ALL KNOW YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SPsFANJO) quite amusing because they remind me of those drunk email days.

I also have MN logged on the whole time, and FB, and email - so could post on any of them completely bladdered should I choose to.

Math has it - just because some people do things differently to you, doesn't make them wrong, so YABU.

SoleSource · 01/01/2013 13:47

I haven't spotted any SP threads. Well last night I was..erm.. Poor SP.

VestaCurry · 01/01/2013 13:50

They're not my cup of tea (boom boom) but they've been going on MN for years and are just a bit of fun as far as I can tell.

chewingguminmyhair · 01/01/2013 13:51

Let's have an extra special Friday drunk Fred this Friday as a demo of our rights to have one Grin we can use up all the leftover drinks from Xmas and I promise to wear new Xmas knickers with good elastic in them.

I defend my right to a drunk thread so there.

I've come back to MN after not being on here for a good few years and I've mentioned that a few times. I'm not an inadequate bitch though Smile.

AlienRefluxThanksFuckThatsOver · 01/01/2013 14:14

right, really don't think this needs to turn into a cunt fest now does it? who's pissed?

SoleSource · 01/01/2013 14:18

My god paranoia!! I don't know who you are. Referring to the fat trolls.

EmmaBemma · 01/01/2013 14:20

I always find the extravagant typos a bit contrived. I have been in some absolutely shocking states in my time but, should the need arise, I've always been able to find my way around a keyboard. i just type a bit more laboriously and am pretty free with the "xx"s.

Nancy66 · 01/01/2013 14:20

did the 'pound of minge is so expensive' thread ever end up in classics.

Can't believe people bought that one.

LadyBeagleEyes · 01/01/2013 14:22

Jeez, people are grumpy today.

SoleSource · 01/01/2013 14:23

Hides thread cannot be bothered. Got slight hangover. I never drink, alcohol is boring.
