I go out for the evening 'cos I have a life

I come back and there are 1,000 posts.

Could someone give me a quick summary?

Please Confused.

And don't tell me to read it, because I've tried to load it about 8 times and it won't bloody well load.

RaisinDEtre · 04/10/2012 22:02

MaryZed are you maryz cos I is confuddled

TIA

SuperB0F · 04/10/2012 22:05

It was classic Larkers v Po, Mary. I think the Po just edged it through sheer tenacity. But the Larkers will rise again. Unless their light is forever outsnuffed.

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:09

What or who is Po?
Forgotten who or what are larkers too.

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:10

Am I one,or is that a stupid question?

MaryZed · 04/10/2012 22:11

Yes.

Do you know, some people (even after all these years) can't pronounce my name properly in their heads and call me Maryzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. So I had to clarify the situation.

And having (finally) managed to load the thread, I don't think I need a summary.

Are threads about threads allowed now.MN have managed to confuse me on that one as well.

LadyBeagleEyes · 04/10/2012 22:12

A couple of lines from my favourite poem since poetry finished up that thread and I was too late to post:
"The time has come, the Walrus said to talk of may things,
Of Sailing Ships and Sealing Wax and Cabbages and Kings"
That is so Mumsnet.

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:12

How many years were you the old Mary for?

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:13

Were you on MN right from the beginning?

MaryZed · 04/10/2012 22:13

No, amillion, I don't think you are generally.

Po is someone who is po-faced, has no sense of humour, takes everything too personally and is looking for offence in every comment.

Larkers (aka the ilk) are the opposite - messing around and possibly not taking anything seriously enough

Larkers mainly hang around in chat. Po might be better off in the more serious topics and should really stay away from aibu as their delicate sensibilities tend to get a bit hurt.

ChristmasKate · 04/10/2012 22:14

Threads about threads are apparently allowed as long as you don't call anyone on the old thread a cunt.

MaryZed · 04/10/2012 22:14

I'll be back to Maryz as soon as I have educated the thickos

I've bee Maryz for ten and a half years now Shock. Since February 2002 I think.

I am very, very old. But I wasn't here at the beginning - I'm number 4500 ish, I think.

MissAnnersley · 04/10/2012 22:15

Nice to know I'm one of the PO.

Actually that's made me go all PO, TBH.

I tried to be tenacious but MN let me down by going all weird and slow.

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:16

Ah I see.
Thanks for that explanation.I now understand.
I am not a larker,
I am 1/4 Po! [the has no sense of humour part]
Cant help that I am afraid, was born like it!

RaisinDEtre · 04/10/2012 22:16

Cool thanks mary

You DO realise that my goldfish memory means I shall be scratching heid and going um er are you maryz next month, eeek

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:16

Thanks ChristmasKate,I thought the rules were clarified recently somewhere.

EllenParsons · 04/10/2012 22:18

Maryz I thought your name was pronounced "Mary's"! :o

amillionyears · 04/10/2012 22:18

MaryZed 10 1/2 years!
I'll be lucky if I last 10 1/2 months!
And do we all have numbers then?
I dont think you will be much older than me btw.

MaryZed · 04/10/2012 22:20

See, I get po about a few things (disablism, drugs, teenagers, things I really care about). So I don't post about those things in aibu or chat or where there are others who don't care about those things.

If I want to chat about something that matters to me I put it in the right place, and have a serious discussion.

I think a lot of this argument is that people post aibu about (insert something they mind about) and then are upset if people think they are being unreasonable. And it all goes downhill from there.

But I'll repeat what I said on the other thread. I do try to intervene if an op is being ganged up on and I generally try to be nice (trolls and goaders excepted, though, and the problem is that some extra naive nice people don't realise they are trolls and goaders).

And I really hope that if someone sees me being deliberately horrible, or bullying, or piling in, that they will call me on it.

And I think there are a lot of "regulars" who feel like that.

[gavel]

couldn't resist the gavel

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 04/10/2012 22:21

I think I'm a PO. I feel very POish today

I should add that I haven't been here all the time. I had a big patch in the middle (when my children were nice) when I hardly posted at all.

It's only in the last couple of years when the shit has majorly hit the fan and I've been stuck in the house a lot that I have become so opinionated regular.

scottishmummy · 04/10/2012 22:23

is it an achievement to get last post
I've always considered it's somewhat random
same as being post. 37 is no more significant than 437
