I love it in all forms, unless MIL has had any involvement in the preparation. God knows what she does to it, then again that applies to most food Grin

Guess what we're having for dinner, thanks to this thread......Grin.

Two things however

  1. They didn't have ring pull cans in Morrissons, just the bloody key ones. Although, I shall take off the label as per advice on here

  2. Holy crap! I had forgotten how fecking expensive corned beef is! Shock

Still, sooooooooooooooooooo looking forward to our hash :)

Love corned beef..
my mam made it into a stew, with carrots, potatoes etc, but she called it Pernacalty (how it is said, no idea on the spelling!

I love just a corned beef sandwich with white bread and proper butter (as my nana used to say)

Corned beef and potato pie ie corned beef and mash baked..

yummy!

Do not think I will at all be able to get corned beef in Norway..but whenever I used to go home to the ne England, i had to fill up on corned beef sandwiches, as I used to live in the midlands.

Omg I can't eat corned beef. Corned beef hash ..yyuurrgh.

It smells like dog food and looks like crumbled chipboard in lard.

ConferencePear · 09/09/2012 20:32

SecretNutellaMedallist are you sure you are talking about the same thing as everyone else ? I think American corned beef is different from the tins of corned beef that people are talking about here.
I'm in France, so sadly I won't be rushing out in the morning to get some.

SecretNutellaMedallist · 09/09/2012 20:51

Cans of the pinky red stuff? Yep I think we are.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/09/2012 21:22

Corned beef toasties, oof, I want one now!!

Thumbwitch · 09/09/2012 23:41

Pinky-red stuff with yellow crusty bits, don't forget the yellow crusty bits (those were the most vomitous, IMO) Nutty!

sashh · 10/09/2012 04:56

Alright.Let's not call it corned beef.Let's call it two year old dead cow in a tin from South America containing growth hormones, antibiotics AND Sodium Nitrite (E250).

Having eaten many 'lomo' in Argentina two year old tinned beef is probably better than the beef on sale in most supermarkets.
