ilovetermtime · 09/09/2012 14:59

YADNBU! I love a corned beef (straight from the fridge) and salad cream sandwich on freshly cut white bread with lashings of butter. Yum...

However, I did once end up in A&E after almost cutting my finger off opening a tin Blush

Rice pudding is maggots swimming in cum

wisdomoflollygag · 09/09/2012 15:01

Not according to wikipedia - what's your source of information?

StepAwayFromTheORANGECakes · 09/09/2012 15:34

fried onion and peppers chuck in corned beef and stir in a bit of hot pepper sauce, and handful of sweetcorn, serve with fried or poached egg on top...... OR layer of corned beef, then layer of thin sliced potatoes, then layer of sliced onion, keep going until dish is full, pour over oxo or bisto gravy with a dash of worcester (lea and perrins) sauce and bake until top is crispy YUMMY YUMMY

Thumbwitch · 09/09/2012 15:40

absolutely PMSL at the idea of "maggots swimming in cum" description of rice pudding being in Wikipedia!! GrinGrinGrin

Am quite sure that it was just unfortunate juxtaposition of posts but OMG, that's hilarious

NettOlympicSuperstar · 09/09/2012 15:42

Hahahahaaaa, me tooGrin

limitedperiodonly · 09/09/2012 18:07

stepaway I'm going to do that pepper sauce, sweetcorn and egg one.

Do you break the corned beef into bits and stir? I'm guessing you don't serve a great big slab from the tin.

thumbitch tapioca was frogspawn. I didn't know was cum was until 16 and I didn't see it with my own eyes for another year.

TBH it was an experience that could have waited indefinitely.

limitedperiodonly · 09/09/2012 18:08

thumbWitch Blush

Sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude.

NettOlympicSuperstar · 09/09/2012 18:17

And now I'm laughing at Thumbitch Grin
Who knew corned beef could cause such hilarity.

AmberLeaf · 09/09/2012 18:17

Really fancy some now......nitrates an all

Pickles77 · 09/09/2012 18:18

Have u lot been in tesco fresh meat/deli counter today because they were all out of corned beef?!

iklboo · 09/09/2012 18:23

My nana 'invented' a recipe she called 'Catalana'. Fry chopped onion till soft, add a tin of chopped tomatoes, about half a tin of sliced corned beef & stir until the corned beef starts to break down. Crumble in a beef oxo cube & stir in well. She used to serve it with chips cos we were fussy gits unfamiliar with pasta / rice etc in them days.

limitedperiodonly · 09/09/2012 18:26

I believe brawn is pig or cow head meat in meat jelly. I'm not going to look it up because the sight of it gave me one of my most terrifying nightmares as a child and I don't want to relive the experience.

I dreamed that my skin had turned into undulating chunks of browny-pink meat separated by seams of clear jelly. I awoke screaming and clawing at my arms.

We never even ate it. I saw it in the Co-Op.

StepAwayFromTheORANGECakes · 09/09/2012 18:46

limited yes break it into chunks and fry well, scrape up the crispy bits, they are the beat... yum
