AIBU to be livid

Today I went to baby clinic to have DS1 weighed as usual and over heard a conversation between the HV's and the woman who lives next door but one. The woman from next door was complaining about the number of delivery people that had been to our house this week (toy deliveries) and how is unfair how some children have everything given to them on a plate blah blah blah blah. The HV was agreeing and mentioned she knew which family she was talking about before stopping dead in her tracks, when she saw me standing there.

I was livid as this seems so unprofessional to gossip about another family and their goings on (she has been to the house and passed comment on the toys etc our DS1 has) and also livid with the person next door but one for being a nosiy parker just because she doesn't have doesn't mean she has a right to bitch. AIBU to be livid and would you report this?

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:05

I thought that they had to be unjudgemental everlong and there she was having a jolly good gossip. Also what does it have to do with said woman what we buy our child. xx

Bought for not rough thank you iphone

RandomMess · 29/06/2012 22:06

Yes I would.

HV gossiped about me to my CM, then she phoned my house and then asked the man who answered "Was it planned was newly pregnant!!! Fortunately it was my partner and he knew I was pregnant.

She denied all of this so apparantly my CM lied to me about the HV and her assistant commenting on my pregnancy in front of her (my CM did not know I was pregnant at the time!)

They need to observe confidentiality and not gossip!!!!!

squeakytoy · 29/06/2012 22:06

oh come on...how many toy deliveries can you have in one week????

fairyfriend · 29/06/2012 22:07

Jesus, how many toys must you have delivered for people to be commenting on it??? I don't think I've ever witnessed a 'toy delivery'!

WorraLiberty · 29/06/2012 22:08

FFS I can't stop laughing at this thread

I probably need another Wine to be fair.

How many 'deliveries' were there?

1-10

10-25

25-50

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:08

SuzySheepSmellsNice I was thinking of it but this could get her into serious trouble.

Petsinmypudenda It isn't but so angry that my private situation is being discussed so openly by a health professional responsible for some of my DS1 healthcare.

xx

I would have challenged the HV and depending on her response, make the decision then.

I would have also said something to your neighbour.

I don't see how any baby/toddler cannot have "everything handed on a plate", they cannot earn what they get.

squeakytoy · 29/06/2012 22:09

...ah... neighbour is probably fed up of the road being blocked

Bloody hell get over yourself.

I agree that the HV was unprofessional, but you have obviously got yourself a reputation.

WorraLiberty · 29/06/2012 22:11

Oh what a waste of bloody time replying

Nice one squeaky Grin

Petsinmypudenda · 29/06/2012 22:12

If this really happened do you think you are upset because they are right?

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:13

RandomMess that is so wrong that she did that to you. I am seriously considering reporting her.

squeakytoy, fairyfriend & WorraLiberty about 8 this week and two last week, so not too many.

OP are you the poster who doesn't like the neighbour to the left (or right, can't remember) and wouldn't give them some nappies?

hairylemon · 29/06/2012 22:16

Do you get any other deliveries that she might cop a view of thinking they are also toys? Eg nappies, formula that type of thing?

Sparklingbrook · 29/06/2012 22:16

Stealth boast or what? Do the deliveries not come in brown boxes though? Confused

startwig1982 · 29/06/2012 22:16

8 in one week? Wtaf?? Stealth boast methinks...

squeakytoy · 29/06/2012 22:16

eight deliveries in one week for a 7 week old child, and you wonder if the neighbours are talking... I am surprised it isnt on the traffic reports on your local radio..

Perhaps it's the fleet of 'Toys R Us' wagons that gives the game away?
