AIBU to be livid

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:02

Today I went to baby clinic to have DS1 weighed as usual and over heard a conversation between the HV's and the woman who lives next door but one. The woman from next door was complaining about the number of delivery people that had been to our house this week (toy deliveries) and how is unfair how some children have everything given to them on a plate blah blah blah blah. The HV was agreeing and mentioned she knew which family she was talking about before stopping dead in her tracks, when she saw me standing there.

I was livid as this seems so unprofessional to gossip about another family and their goings on (she has been to the house and passed comment on the toys etc our DS1 has) and also livid with the person next door but one for being a nosiy parker just because she doesn't have doesn't mean she has a right to bitch. AIBU to be livid and would you report this?

Please let us not be too hasty with this OP. Just think what MN gold she's going to be over the next few years...the first nativity play (AIBU to think Prada should do a sheep/donkey line) the first show and tell...... We'd be daft, daft, I tell you to miss out on this. Don't piss her off..

CouthyMow · 29/06/2012 22:51

Hahahahahahaha, Worra, you always cheer me up when I feel shit. I just spluttered cider on my phone reading your list.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 29/06/2012 22:51

I was just thinking that MakesCakes. 10mo DS also loves a wooden spoon. Give him two wooden spoons or let him get the spoon out of the drawer himself and he's the happiest boy around.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:52

5inthebedPPA I am completly sain I can assure you, just a little over zelous at times.

everlong I can see why it seems odd but DS1 will only be a child for a short time.

usualsuspect no they have stopped after a word from the police.

MakesCakesWhenStressed DS1 loves his play gym at the moment.

WorraLiberty I can assure you this is our life and a very real life

Well to be fair you're hardly going to say, "WorrLiberty you've caught me out...I'm actually a benny-fit claimant on a wind up" are you?

wellhellodolly · 29/06/2012 22:53

OP are you Hyacinth Bucket?

WorraLiberty · 29/06/2012 22:53

Couthy I'm surprised it's still there Grin

LentillyFart · 29/06/2012 22:54

Is this the only way you can get people to talk to you OP? I think it's all a little bit sad actually. Your GP can help you know.

BellaOfTheBalls · 29/06/2012 22:54

Anytime caffeine. Just in case you were out of the loop; the goat du jour are ones that produce cashmere wool. You then employ a small team of women from Tibet to knit them into perfect one of a kind items of clothing for your VVVPFB DC, then hire Mario Testino to do a small intimate photoshoot so your spoilt brat dear, sweet child doesn't look back in years to come and think "why the fuck am I not wearing cashmere & playing with a goat"

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 22:54

a very real life

:o OP you are priceless

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:54

LentillyFart I meant via pictures not actual memories as such.

threetequilafloor nothing could be further from the truth I just want to get on with our life without being gossiped about by people in RL.

If I could afford just a few of those toys on the previous thread for my ds birthday I would be a happy happy lady!

mummy349 · 29/06/2012 22:57

I never got a mr frost :-( must of had mean mean parents! Grin

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 22:58

Could I go one better and make my own organic goat milk yoghurt for DD?

Now that would show the neighbour!

Flisspaps · 29/06/2012 22:58

Mr Frosty was shit

Shullbit · 29/06/2012 22:58

Seriously OP, why not wait? That is like buying a Nintendo 3DS now and in years to come, when he is old enough, they have a Nintendo 5DSi3 or what not. There really is no point getting everything now. Waste of money.

Why can't you just get some things now, and then buy stuff at Christmas like normal people? What do you plan to get your child to open at Christmas maybe a PS3?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 29/06/2012 22:59

Ach, just give him a box mummy349 - he'll never know the difference. If you really wanted to push the boat out, you could put a ball in the box.

mummy349 · 29/06/2012 22:59

Ha, well now I dont feel so bad about not having one :-)

ScrambledSmegs · 29/06/2012 22:59

Sounds like you have a shopping addiction, OP. Either that or you're feeling guilty for working and are over-compensating wildly with material goods. Have you considered talking to a professional about that?

BellaOfTheBalls · 29/06/2012 22:59

Have we ascertained which neighbour this was? I thought the OP got on with all the neighbours in the street with the exception of "less than salubrious" newer family?

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 23:00

5inthebedPPA I had a Mr Frosty I loved it )it may still be in the attic)

MavisGrind LOL I'm sure by that point I will have bigger fish to fry eg football and cricket.

WorraLiberty LOL that is poorly put but I have not lied at all.

wellhellodolly No she annoys me.

BellaOfTheBalls I love Cashmere although not for DS1 yet.

Well I find with my ds I can buy him all the fancy toys I want, but hand him a broken remote and get the pots and pans out its likes all hes birthdays have come at once! Or kitchen foil...he has a strange strange obsession with the stuff!

5inthebedPPA · 29/06/2012 23:02

So are you going to take a photo of him with each individual toy, just so you can show him he did have it?

Talk about overthinking things.

You're going to turn him into a spoilt child who expects everything if you continue this way op.
