AIBU to be livid

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 22:02

Today I went to baby clinic to have DS1 weighed as usual and over heard a conversation between the HV's and the woman who lives next door but one. The woman from next door was complaining about the number of delivery people that had been to our house this week (toy deliveries) and how is unfair how some children have everything given to them on a plate blah blah blah blah. The HV was agreeing and mentioned she knew which family she was talking about before stopping dead in her tracks, when she saw me standing there.

I was livid as this seems so unprofessional to gossip about another family and their goings on (she has been to the house and passed comment on the toys etc our DS1 has) and also livid with the person next door but one for being a nosiy parker just because she doesn't have doesn't mean she has a right to bitch. AIBU to be livid and would you report this?

You might want to return the Leap Pad as it is passé. I have it! The IPad replaces it, is much better. Technology has gone on from the Leap Pad. Also, Mega Blocks are not as good as Lego. They do not intermix, you have to choose one or the other.
I am not one to say this, probably, as I have too many toys for grand kids, but my, that is a lot of stuff, and it will be a burden for all of you.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 29/06/2012 23:03

A broken remote? How do you get away with that? We tried a ''special' remote for DS but he soooo knows the difference and will accept no imitations.

5inthebedPPA · 29/06/2012 23:03

Bellamy, those were the neighbours on the left, these are different ones Shock

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 29/06/2012 23:03

DEAR GOD,

HOW THE FUCK IS SANTA GOING TO GET EVERYTHING DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITHOUT THE ROOF COLLAPSING OR POOR RUDOLPH KEELING OVER FROM FATIGUE???

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 23:03

bella I think this is the same pretend neighbour

5inthebedPPA · 29/06/2012 23:04

*Bella, stoopid ipda

BellaOfTheBalls · 29/06/2012 23:05

You mean there is more than one set of neighbours in the street that are not keen on OP?! Surely no 5inabed? How can this be?!

SchrodingersMew · 29/06/2012 23:05

ThankGod I don't think this is pretend at all, OP is actually a pretty regular poster, she's just a bit barmy.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 23:06

Maryz we are friendly with the other neighbours just not this family. Our Neighbour is having a baby in a few weeks time so their LO will be a similer age to our DS1 and we get on okay, so our DS can share/play with their LO and as neighbour has stated Vise versa.

Flisspaps I loved it.

Shullbit a valid point.

ScrambledSmegs I to shop and this has replaced my shopping for DP and the house.

BellaOfTheBalls it is the less than salubrious neighbour that was at clinic.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 29/06/2012 23:06

Was it the same neighbour who saw all your deliveries of nappies and wanted to borrow one?

The hv should not gossip anyway despite the quite frankly mind boggling array of deliveries you seem to have!

mummy349 · 29/06/2012 23:06

He thinks its a phone Grin he picks it up goes hello? And dissapears to hes room, I go in a couple of minutes later and he will b sat in the middle of the room having a full blown conversation about cats/being at the park, whatever he is interested in at the time, altho had him an old phone he looks at me like ive gone mad!

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 23:07

Oh are they different neighbours then? Strangely enough, it seems the OP isn't very popular on her street...

squeakytoy · 29/06/2012 23:08

Have you booked him into his high school and enrolled him for cubs yet?

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 23:08

Oh hang on, same people! Thanks for clarifying OP.

Thankgodforcaffeine · 29/06/2012 23:09

I thought for a moment I had lost the plot like the OP

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 23:10

5inthebedPPA we will ensure that DS doesn't bwcome "spoilt"

HansieMom his grandparents are going to purchase lego etc later on.

HmmThinkingAboutIt carefully I think and the home insurance covers damage to the roof. LOL

SchrodingersMew perhaps I'm a little over zelous at times.

Worra have you thought of a career in toy design?

BellaOfTheBalls · 29/06/2012 23:11

Sorry, now I'm confused. The same set of neighbours who don't have a baby but want to borrow nappies and formula were spotted taking a baby to see the HV at baby clinic?

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 23:13

WhosPickleishatOnion thats what I thought that the HV had to be polite but not pass judgement.

Thankgodforcaffeine we get on with the neighbours to the right just not the left.

squeakytoy I know which primary we want him to attend and the cubs are up to him.

OP posts:
SchrodingersMew · 29/06/2012 23:15

Over zealous? OP, your neighbours have asked you for formula and nappies in the past and you refused, they are probably jealous that you are wasting insane amounts of money of crap that will probably be used once when they can hardly afford to buy their dc nappies and milk...

Although the HV shouldn't have been gossiping, I really don't blame her, you must come across as a complete snobby bitch.

Yummymummyyobe1 · 29/06/2012 23:15

BellaOfTheBalls baby clinic is loosely used as there are toddlers there around 2/3years I think.

OP posts:
Macchiato · 29/06/2012 23:15

Let's have a picture of all these things then OP?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 29/06/2012 23:15

Well, I would be peeved but I don't think she said anything worth getting her into trouble for. I mean you do have an extraordinary amount of parcels arriving and you obviously have a reputation as the recipient of many many parcels, and she could just mean that.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 29/06/2012 23:16

ATruth - desire of the tv remote is encouraging Baby Cakes into crawling early. Poor tot gets left on the floor with nothing to do except figure out how to reach the forbidden object of his desire. Otoh this means he is pushing himself physically and trying new things rather than just having plastic crap waved in his face every minute
