It just got me thinking...

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard any man express a big preference either way?

I hear a lot about 'men' especially those under 30 'expecting' women to be pubic hair free but sadly not knowing many men under 30 I have no idea if this is true.

In my youth, lads used to joke about preferring a 'shaven haven' but IMO they were so thankful to be allowed near a woman's nether regions, that in reality they were none too fussy. Other than that I've never heard anyone express a definite preference

Just curious (and apologise about the whole thread from a thread thing)

This is the 3rd thread, I've never had a problem what ever I've done with it. However I do think some men will have a preference, as will some women

AnneofGreenFables · 29/05/2012 13:41

Yikes, is it the third?!!

It did seem to take off I suppose!

Just got me wondering, whether there's any mumsnet evidence for some men having 'expectations' (never a good idea in terms of pubic grooming!)

I once had it all taken off for a dare to see what it was like. DH's response was to say "there's only one bald c* in this house and that's me".

I guess that's an expression of preference...

ripsishere · 29/05/2012 13:56

My DH would be very put off by it I imagine. OTOH, my niece who is 22 has a BF who expressed shock and surprise at finding some of his Dads porn magazines. Not the finding, he was shocked at the big bushy fannies in them.
Me, my sister and mum told him that's what women are supposed to look ike,
One can only assume that my niece is bare downstairs.

KurriKurri · 29/05/2012 14:02

I would say any man who finds the natural look unacceptable, is not very well adapted in evolutionary terms.

If everyone refused to look like porn stars for the gratification of men, then the men who don't like it would die out.

(I appreciate that some women choose to shave, that's fine, but let's not get into the realms of what men want us to do)

I am bare as I hate bodily hair on me, I immac my arms but that's me.

Couldn't give a rats ass about anyone else's lady garden or pits.

FaceForRadio · 29/05/2012 14:39

a one night stand once told me to shave my fanny! cheeky fucker!

ThePathanKhansWitch · 29/05/2012 14:49

Face I take it that's why it only lasted the one night? Grin.

An old Aunt of mine used to say "where's there's hair, there's comfort, and where there's none there's an argument".

I get mine waxed sometimes in the summer cos I have an awful sweaty fanny.
And worse it's started going grey WTF?, oh and little baldy patches. Shit I'm old.

ripsishere · 29/05/2012 14:52

Mmmm grey and baldy. What a lovely picture you are painting.
I am astonished that a ONS asked you to shave. Cheeky twat.

keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 29/05/2012 14:58

Dh much prefers bald and he tells me so quite often but I prefer short back and sides Grin
I mostly stick to my way, but sometimes go bald as a suprise treat for him on special occasions! Grin
too much maintenance to do it all the time i'm lazy

SingingfortheMoon · 29/05/2012 15:01

We're under 30 and my partner prefers it shaven as then it doesn't tickle his nose! I was mostly shaven (Brazilian style) before we started dating. He does watch porn but never found my hair a turn off apart from the nose tickling. Shaven feels better for both of us.

Sallyingforth · 29/05/2012 15:03

"I am bare as I hate bodily hair on me, I immac my arms but that's me."

Are you bald as well then? There's nothing unique about the hair on your head. Why make exceptions?

OTheHugeManatee · 29/05/2012 15:03

carabos Your bald c* of a DH made me do a little snort out loud Grin

ThePathanKhansWitch · 29/05/2012 15:05

rip I know, what a mess! Singing Shock Grin.

I will have to get myself a merkin Grin.

blackcurrants · 29/05/2012 15:06

The only person I can think of who has publically commented on that matter recently is Daniel Radcliffe. That's right, Harry Potter himself thinks it's "a bit creepy'' when women have no pubes at all.

It made me grin. I was worried that these young'uns won't know what a pube looks like, the way kids are waxing now [mutter, mutter, old gimmer emoticon]

RightBuggerforit · 29/05/2012 15:07

I'm bare cos I prefer it, but dh prefers a landing strip. I used to alternate as a compromise but I cba now really! Plus I don't think he really minds that much - a big bush'd probably put him off (probably) but there's no chance of that!

TheCunnyFunt · 29/05/2012 15:08

I trim, I used to take it all off but as it grew back it would get itchy. I only started removing it because I used to use pads and I hated the way the blood would make my pubes all matted up (sorry, I appreciate that's quite and tmi) then I switched to tampons and DP said he liked it trimmed as did I so I just continued to trim.

My friend shaves all hers off. She put song lyrics up as her FB status "I got passion in my pants and I aIn't afraid to show it!" and someone commented "no that's crabs" to which she replied "You can't get crabs if there's no hair there!" she has around 500 FB friends who all know she has no pubes now!

5madthings · 29/05/2012 15:11

my dp isnt bothered, i keep mine trimmed and short, but he isnt bothered when it gets long.

IAmNotACowbag · 29/05/2012 15:12

My DH doesn't care. I think he prefers it trimmed to wild and 40 foot long, but bikini line doesn't bother him. I know he prefers it to have hair as he finds no pubes creepy - says it would make him feel like a molester or something.

Fay30 · 29/05/2012 15:13

It has certainly been more preferred these past few (3-4) years for both the woman and the man to be clean shaven.
Good shower, he shaves you, then you shave him.

Keeps the garden nice and tidy.

Fay

IAmNotACowbag · 29/05/2012 15:14

Ew I wouldn't like my DH bald down below Confused

PandaWatch · 29/05/2012 15:18

Hair is for the scalp and eyebrows as far as I'm concerned!

And I'm a bit Hmm at the alleged creepiness of a lack of hair. I don't think many women could be mistaken for a pre-pubscent child just because they're bald down below!
