It just got me thinking...

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard any man express a big preference either way?

I hear a lot about 'men' especially those under 30 'expecting' women to be pubic hair free but sadly not knowing many men under 30 I have no idea if this is true.

In my youth, lads used to joke about preferring a 'shaven haven' but IMO they were so thankful to be allowed near a woman's nether regions, that in reality they were none too fussy. Other than that I've never heard anyone express a definite preference

Just curious (and apologise about the whole thread from a thread thing)

Oh and eyelashes, obviously Grin

McKayz · 29/05/2012 15:19

I shave most of mine off and I dont think DH cares really. The only time he's mentioned it is when I was having a cry at about 30 weeks pregnant that I could hardly shave my legs and I couldn't shave at all down there. And he said it didn't matter.

KellyElly · 29/05/2012 15:19

If you shave/wax it all off doesn't it grow back stubbly? I just have a 'g-string' wax and trim. Also, after kids it doesn't look like it did when you were 20 down there so couldn't imagine the bald look working for everyone [grins]

ihateshopping · 29/05/2012 15:20

I am bare, my DH prefers it, but he is also bare! I prefer him shaved. We find it cleaner and nicer.

CrispyCod · 29/05/2012 15:21

When I was with my ex I used to have a basic bikini wax done regularly. He wanted me to have it all off underneath because he reckoned it was 'cleaner'.
I never did though, well at least not while I was dating him.

TheCunnyFunt · 29/05/2012 15:22

I managed to shave my legs at 41 weeks pregnant :o I couldn't see to do my pubes though :(

ethelb · 29/05/2012 15:23

OP, I am 25 and when I was first starting to have sexual experiences age 17ish, I had complaints from two men who refused to do anything after they discovered I had public hair. Seriously. They actually would rather not get laid.

I hope their knobs fall off.

My DP jokes about taking it all off for him, and goes on about how he trims for me (as if I notice!). I trim occassionally and smile politely.

ripsishere · 29/05/2012 15:24

WTAF is a g-string wax. Does it include bum crack?

PinkChampagneandStrawberries · 29/05/2012 15:24

I have heard 2 men over 30 having a preference my dp also over 30 says he doesn't care does this help?

CrispyCod · 29/05/2012 15:26

I much prefer it if a guy hacks it back too. Not completely bald but not bushy either.

Thumbwitch · 29/05/2012 15:27

DH once, before we were married, shaved his balls "as a surprise for me". Bloody shock, more like. I was deeply unimpressed, especially when the hair started to grow back in - and he itched like nobody's business! Up until that point he'd been trying to persuade me to shave my fanny and I'd told him nae luck, mate - I'm not putting up with the itchy re-growth - I think he shaved to try and prove a point and ended up proving mine instead! Grin
He's never asked since.

McKayz · 29/05/2012 15:28

Oh OP. DH is 26 and doesn't expect me to have it all off.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 29/05/2012 15:29

DH is under 30. He's not really commented on it but bearing in mind we didn't have sex til we got married I got a Brazilian for our wedding. He spent the week like this Grin saying i can't believe you got a Brazilian for me like it was the best gift ever! I have a very low
Pain threshold and got some in growing hairs from it so no repeats after 3 years of marriage! I just tidy it every so often with cream now. He seems happy enough with that!

AnneofGreenFables · 29/05/2012 15:48

Thanks for all the responses.

As you'd expect really, most men having a slight preference but not too fussed and the odd knob head being a twat Grin

ripsishere it does indeed. It's basically so if you are wearing a g-string you don't have any hair poking out :)

IAmNotACowbag · 29/05/2012 16:12

Why do they design ladies underwear to show hairy bits? All ladies underwear seems to require a certain amount of grooming.

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 29/05/2012 16:15

I prefer hair. A bit of tidying up is ok, but the thought of being confronted with a bald one makes me shudder.

I also suspect that the group of men who prefer shaved ones feature men who've used too much porn or are closet paedos.

DollysDrawers · 29/05/2012 16:17

DH really doesn't like a bald fanjo. He finds it 'seriously unsexy'. I grew mine back to keep him happy but it's fairly well trimmed (most of the time).

MarySA · 29/05/2012 16:19

It's always about women. Why don't people complain about hairy men. I think they all should wax.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 29/05/2012 16:27

Shaved men? Yuk. I don't get this obsession with no hair=clean either. You wouldn't shave your head for the same reason. Nonsense.

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 29/05/2012 16:30

One of my mates once admitted that he'd shaved his pubic hair off to see what it would be like.

I guess it turned out to not be the erotic experience he thought it would be, given that he described it as being like "the last turkey in the shop".

PandaWatch · 29/05/2012 16:34

My DH has the level of body hair one would expect in someone of Middle Eastern ethnicity so I can only imagine how ridiculous he'd look if he just shaved his bits! Grin

Halfway · 29/05/2012 16:42

My DH is in his late 40s and keeps himself completely bald 'downstairs'. He's done it since puberty and is thoroughly under the impression that everyone does it.

I know its not from porn viewing in his case as he is very against any type of pornography and has quite strong religious views about sex... to the point he gets squeamish if there is a love scene on a movie or tv.

He was quite aghast when I told him that for most of my life I never shaved my pubic hair (tried it once just out of curiousity in my late 20s and just liked the feel of it so kept on).

His reasoning is that any bits that smell stronger or get sweaty should be kept hair free (he does his armpits as well).

sensuallettuce · 29/05/2012 16:44

We both shave because it makes sex better Blush
