It just got me thinking...

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard any man express a big preference either way?

I hear a lot about 'men' especially those under 30 'expecting' women to be pubic hair free but sadly not knowing many men under 30 I have no idea if this is true.

In my youth, lads used to joke about preferring a 'shaven haven' but IMO they were so thankful to be allowed near a woman's nether regions, that in reality they were none too fussy. Other than that I've never heard anyone express a definite preference

Just curious (and apologise about the whole thread from a thread thing)

My point was UnimaginativeDad that no one who says they shave has done so because they were told to. Stories about men refusing to sleep with a woman who doesn't and the woman telling them to piss off is not the same thing.

And I think your "opinion" that men who prefer women to be hair free are all paedophiles is wholly offensive. But that's just my opinion :)

PandaWatch · 30/05/2012 12:30

Anne only a few weeks ago a woman at work recounted a recent daliance with a man who she refused to sleep with because he was, in her opinion, too small. There's a lot of shit people around - not just the Pube Fascists!

OTheHugeManatee · 30/05/2012 12:37

Arf at Pube Fascists Grin

Surely there's a MN username in there for someone?

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 30/05/2012 12:38

@Pandawatch

And I think your "opinion" that men who prefer women to be hair free are all paedophiles is wholly offensive.

But I didn't say that. If you look back, you'll find that I said that I believe the group of men who prefer shaven groins feature porn users and closet paedos.

PandaWatch · 30/05/2012 12:59

The inference is that if a man prefers a woman to be hair free they are a suspect peadophile.

My position stands - I remain offended.

panda Shock she didn't?!!!! How appalling! He should have infered she's obviously quite, ahem, 'wide set' and wouldn't feel anything below a set size!! I'm curious now, was it length or girth she was after?

Clearly Pube Fascists and Penis Fascists are sneakily multiplying!!!

OTheHugeManatee · 30/05/2012 13:14

Panda There's a whole website for cats that look like hitler so surely it's only a matter of time before we have muffs that do as well.

Surely if you shave everything off apart from a teeny little square at the front, that should give your minge a slightly Hitleresque look?

MerryMarigold · 30/05/2012 13:14

GrandOldDuke, a strip is worth it, in terms of the would healing without shaved hairs growing back in the middle of it all. But DO NOT go the whole hog. Or start with a strip and see if you can hack it. It is more painful when pg anyway.

PandaWatch · 30/05/2012 13:54

Grin at the idea of muffsthatlooklikehitler.com

And Shock - it's not a landing strip - it's a hitler 'tache!

Anne I know - it's awful isn't it?! I was stunned, not only that she humilated the poor man but that she felt the need to share it WITH HER WORK COLLEAGUES!

Oh PandaWatch, you are so pathetic.
You are so insecure.
What on earth makes you think men who like a shaven vagi are suspect pedophiles.
Have you never heard of "Good clean fun" emphasis on "CLEAN"
When I first shaved about 5 years ago, it felt very very sensual.
Now it's just part of keeping tidy every 2-3 days.
Some times I shave me, some times he shaves me.

May be it was UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername who first started the "closet paedos."
And NOT PandaWatch

sorry PandaWatch,

Trying to quote, and picked wrong.

Lovecat · 30/05/2012 17:50

Fay

Are you a spambot posting on behalf of Gillette?

Just wondering :)

DinahMoHum · 30/05/2012 17:54

would the people that dont shave, really prefer it if the ones that did shave, stopped doing it? Even if they quite like it and so do their partners??

do you want us to to actually stop or something?

yellowraincoat · 30/05/2012 17:57

I don't care what you do with it Dinah.

I really really don't.

What do you want? For us to start shaving? I doubt it. So why assume we want you to stop?

DinahMoHum · 30/05/2012 18:00

no not at all. Im just not sure why what other women do with their foofoos are any concern of anyone else at all tbh. I dont know why its all of a sudden a political issue rather than just personal grooming preference

PandaWatch · 30/05/2012 18:02

I was about to extend my day's offended quota to include you then Fay Grin

yellowraincoat · 30/05/2012 18:05

Dinah - because it is something that a lot of people do these days, whereas 30 years ago, almost no one did.

It is a trend.

Some people are interested in trends. They tend to say something about the society we're in - not always, but often.

If you're not interested in what other women do to their pubic hair, why come on a thread about it.

Krumbum · 30/05/2012 19:15

Dinahmohum. No we don't care that you shave. We want you to care that women are pressured by society into changing their bodies for patriarchical society. And agree that these social pressures do exist (as there is an abundance of evidence!!!) and that they affect us negatively. Once you understand that, do with it what you will. We all internalise these pressures, It is not the fault of you victim but the patriarchal system.

NurseBernard · 30/05/2012 19:49

Grin at Fay accidentally accusing a man of being 'pathetic' and 'insecure'...

Laquitar · 30/05/2012 20:06

Don't the ones who prefer waxed women wax themselves too thu? My exes did. (and the mens mags advised this so that the pennis looks bigger!).

So it might not have to do with patriarchy but with higher standars re grooming and hygiene in general. i.e. liquid soaps that you don't touch, seperate towels for the family members, more washing etc. A lot has changed since the '70s.

yellowraincoat · 30/05/2012 20:08

Those non-touch soap things aren't more hygienic, they're just crazy. We're more allergic to things now because everything is too clean. It's bananas.

AnneofGreenFables · 30/05/2012 20:09

I think it's one thing to 'prefer' something. We all have preferences. Totally different to 'insisting' on something like that

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 30/05/2012 20:12

However you will find that most men, by a long way, prefer the lady garden neat and trimmed, and smooth and sensual

How can you possibly speak on behalf of 'most men?' Confused

motherinferior · 30/05/2012 20:13

I am now a mature and respectable laydee, but back in the late 1990s when I had a bit of a wind in my sails, so to speak, and shagged 15 a few blokes in the space of a year or so, none of them commented on my wild and free pubic hair.
