It just got me thinking...

Does anyone know, or has anyone heard any man express a big preference either way?

I hear a lot about 'men' especially those under 30 'expecting' women to be pubic hair free but sadly not knowing many men under 30 I have no idea if this is true.

In my youth, lads used to joke about preferring a 'shaven haven' but IMO they were so thankful to be allowed near a woman's nether regions, that in reality they were none too fussy. Other than that I've never heard anyone express a definite preference

Just curious (and apologise about the whole thread from a thread thing)

It might make it better for you but I think it depends on your structure. We tried it and my rather keen clitoris tried to hide up by my kidneys, did not like.

Dh dislikes no hair, which is handy as I wont do anything with it. I have very amiable pubes though, they grow with the mildest of waves and lay nice, flat and neat exactly where I want them. I'm very lucky with my body hair as I don't have a great deal and it all behaves.

I don't like a shaved man...I just ugh, don't know bald skeeves me out and pube stubble makes me feel sick all itchy and grim and giving you contact rash, no ta.
Never had a problem with cleanliness either. Good wash twice daily and as necessary in between, particularly af days. Dry thoroughly! That I reckon is important. Folksy wisdom there!

SingingfortheMoon · 29/05/2012 17:41

UnimaginativeDad I really disagree that men who like women shaven are porn addicts or paedophiles!

Many women find that sex feels better when shaven, and so men may also enjoy sex more. Also oral sex can be easier and more pleasurable. Again many men enjoy giving oral sex to their partners.

And as for the paedophile comment, being shaven will not make an adult woman look anything like a child!

HecateTrivia · 29/05/2012 17:47

I have never encountered a man who has given a stuff.

They are about to get sex. Very little else matters Grin

slowestwildebeast · 29/05/2012 17:59

"If everyone refused to look like porn stars for the gratification of men, then the men who don't like it would die out."

I hope not, I have to shave mine off so would like at least 1 bloke to enjoy it and not force me into having a bush! :)

I get rid of the lot, I didn't realise I was making a political statement about feminism/porn stars/pervert men - how radical of me!

HappyHubbie · 29/05/2012 18:10

Personally I've always been a keen cunnilinguist (is that a word? it should be) and the less hair around the target area the better, there's nothing worse than having to break off midway through to remove a tickly pube from the back of ones throat. A neatly trimmed landing strip round the front is nice though, totally bald does look a little odd. Never found it made any difference to the actual shagging though.

WorraLiberty · 29/05/2012 18:14

I don't get this obsession with no hair=clean either. You wouldn't shave your head for the same reason. Nonsense.

You probably would if you pissed, shat, had discharge and periods on it.

I also suspect that the group of men who prefer shaved ones feature men who've used too much porn or are closet paedos.

You might want to explain where that leaves bi and lesbian women who prefer nude....?

I suspect your theory is big fat hairy bollocks.

SofaKing · 29/05/2012 18:26

Dh did used to say he much preferred shaven, until he had to shave for his vasectomy. The regrowth was so itchy he didn't mention me shaving again and it was almost two years ago! I still shave sometimes as I like the different feelings, and I'm less self conscious when he goes down.

Err, am I the only one who shaves everything off and leaves it until it grows back long enough to be annoying, then shaves it all off again?

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 29/05/2012 18:36

I was 'seeing' a younger man a couple of years ago, he was about 22, I was 25. When it got as far as us sleeping together (which much to his annoyance wasn't on the 1st date) he told me that if I wasn't clean shaven he would kick me out.
I saved him the bother and haven't seen him since.

sensuallettuce · 29/05/2012 18:44

"younger"?! That's only 3 years?!

itdoesnthurttohavemanners · 29/05/2012 18:57

Clean shaven - cleaner, less sweaty, better all round ;)
TBH...wish DH would get rid of some/all of his - since he's moved in, I'm forever finding random pubes on the bathroom floor/shower/off the clean washing/in the bed etc....this was a pube free apartment before him!!!!

Pretty sure (based on experience!) that ALL men under 30 expect/prefer women to be less hairy. Not necessarily bald, but certainly not a power muff!!!!!!!

IneedAbetterNicknameIn2012 · 29/05/2012 19:01

I meant younger as in under 30 as that seems to be the age mentioned on here relating to hairyness

NiniLegsInTheAir · 29/05/2012 19:05

My H prefers me to be shaven but I don't have time these days he's being such an arse I can't be bothered. In our dating days I used to shave the hair to make shapes! Grin He shaved for me once but the regrowth was too itchy. Personally I don't think it feels any different when I'm shaven but does mean theres less mess when Aunt Flo comes to town.

DinahMoHum · 29/05/2012 19:06

my dp prefers it bald, although hes not bothered if i dont maintain it much either. Ive left it to grow a few times when ive got fed up of him growing a beard, and hes soon shaved :)

oiwheresthecoffee · 29/05/2012 19:08

Most men i now prefer nothing or a landing strip. And yes i have asked Grin

oiwheresthecoffee · 29/05/2012 19:09

I Know even. I also prefer men to at least tidy too.

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2012 19:11

My dp prefers it bare, but I hate it, so he rarely gets it how he likes it.
he's not overly fussed though, like OP said, he's just grateful to actually get laid, but if he could choose, he'd choose hairless.

blapbird · 29/05/2012 19:19

My dp doesn't mind either way, I prefer no hair

Pishspice · 29/05/2012 19:20

I'm struggling to imagine a scenario where another person decides how I have my body. Nope. Can't imagine it.

I'm mid forties as is DH and neither of us have the time, preference or inclination to fart around with pubes. Besides, I do a sport that would be eyewateringly hideous with a shaved fanjo.

For the record, thank god I shag a mature man. I had no idea the younger generation were so controlling and rather worryingly misogynist.

Krumbum · 29/05/2012 19:23

Again. As talked about in the original thread. This is about the political not the personal it's about beauty standards and pressure on women from patriarchy, not individual blokes you may know. This has been repeated over and over.

sensuallettuce · 29/05/2012 19:24

I need to know what sport?!

oiwheresthecoffee · 29/05/2012 19:28

Yes i cant imagine , what sport please tell !

EXmrsmascarahead · 29/05/2012 19:28

I don't know what DH prefers, he's never said and I've never asked.

TangerinePuppet · 29/05/2012 19:29

FFS! As has been pointed out repeatedly on the other threads, removal of all pubic hair makes the vulval area LESS hygienic and more prone to germs, infection etc.

Jeez.

I have hair and I'm perfectly clean thank you Smile

ZuzuBailey · 29/05/2012 19:33

Well said Pishspice
