And DS this afternoon came to me a bit cross... " Mum, can you help me fold this"... "what are you wanting to do".... "make a heart, can you draw it for me"

Off he pops and comes back with Happy Valentines Mum..... yes I made my own card

GoingForGoalWeight · 14/02/2012 22:30

Listening to Brahms's Lieder on Youtube now :)

mumeeee · 14/02/2012 22:34

Although we don't get each other presents. DH bought me a lovely bunch of flowers on his way home from work.

flyingspaghettimonster · 14/02/2012 22:42

Beaver - hope he is just panicking and will sort himself out soon. What shitty timing! Hope you find something funny on TV and drink the wine...

ssd · 14/02/2012 22:53

Freshlettice · 14/02/2012 23:54

I got
From DH: lovely card, hugs and some subs to spend on plants at the alpine show on Sat. Will cook him nice meal at w/e.
From DD2 aged 7: lovely card with beautiful mis-spelt messages and an enormous hug and 'I love you mummy, you are so kind and cuddly'.
From DS aged 19: he was up before me for work so put the fire on in the conservatory so I could have my coffee in there when I came down. And a hug and 'I love you Mum'.
From DD1 aged 17: sullen face, filthy argument, no hello, goodbye, please or thanks. I cause her stress and am controlling apparently, even though she does exac tly what she likes, then storms off to shag the 24 year old BF up the road.

Ah well, 3 out of 4 love me, so that's ok -Sad

Everyone seems to be having the m&s meal for 2. My husband bought this for us yesterday. We had it tonight, we really enjoyed it. Although mos probably will have put on weight now .

He also bought me a card , 12 red roses with eucalyptus and foliage. I love the smell of eucalyptus. I got a bottle of pink champagne from m&s and tonight when having our meal he surprised me with a gift voucher for a beauty salon to have spa treatments or I could buy some products.

He also brought me back after work a muffin and a hot chocolate from cafe Nero. Yum yum. I most defiantley need to wor out tomorrow!

I made the meal, bought him a teddy with a balloon saying I love you, a card, brazil nuts, choc heart lolly, a new top, smart socks and a new tie.

RachyRach30 · 15/02/2012 02:48

We are nearly 10years down the line but I still feel it is important to make the effort not just on valentines but throughout the year.

OhTheConfusion · 15/02/2012 05:36

I got a tacky card and bath stuff.

I got DH a 'nice' card and book of poetry he had been looking at but not treated himself to.

Best gift we got was from our DC's. The got two sweets from the kitchen, made a card and wrapping parer and wrapped them up using almost a whole roll or sellotape! :)

diddl · 15/02/2012 08:38

Got a bunch of carnations-my favs!

Anyone else dying to see a pic of the octopus mug?

StealthPenguin · 15/02/2012 08:44

OK, DP came home from work last night and surprised me with my favourite Indian Takeaway, a huge box of Guylian Chocolates, an apple pie with double cream and a dozen roses. We then snuggled up and watched Dr Who while sipping Bucks Fizz Grin

Nice night in? I think so!

EauDeLaPoisson · 15/02/2012 08:56

I know its a bit cheesy and people only seem to send them valentines day but I WANT a dozen red roses for valentines! I got a MUG! Nice thought but still I want my frigging roses! Grr

GlitterKitty · 15/02/2012 09:48

Just to clarify my earlier post was arrant cobblers.

DP was out with his mates last night, apparently pub was empty... funny that! I stayed in with DS. But I dont complain because we are off on holidays tommorow!

Blush that anyone thought I might be in a cottage right now and DP would dress in red/pink Grin

GrittersWifeAndProud · 15/02/2012 18:52

My sister has been engaged for ages now, since last year sometime. But her DP didn't propose 'properly' (on one knee etc) and my sister always wanted him to do it that way. Yesterday morning she got up and went down to the kitchen and he was there, on bended knee with a huge bunch of roses and a box of chocs and asked her to marry him :) it's so cliche but so sweet! Especially as I could never imagine BILTB being that romantic :)
