Of course I'd ordered HIS present a couple of weeks ago.

We picked out a box of 'guylian-effect' seashells together at Lidl yesterday last of the romantics

Inertia · 14/02/2012 08:52

I got a lovely cup of tea in bed (and an apology for lack of card).

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 14/02/2012 08:54

I've got a horrible feeling that flowers are on the way, which means we are going to have to rush home soon and hang about all day waiting for them.

Under normal circumstances we wouldn't have bothered with Valentines day at all, but DH is away this year for ten weeks (has been gone about four now) and he always sends some overpriced and half dead flowers when he is away. So I tried to pre-empt the flowers and had dropped a large hint for a cup with pictures of bits of an octopus on it instead, so that may be on the way too.

Denj33 · 14/02/2012 08:55

I got to get up at 6am, get DC2 ready for holiday club, put a wash on a go to work.....then got a phone call from DH saying he has a surprise for me later...I dread to think what it might be, maybe a sink full of washing up??
I haven't given him his pressie yet, I will wait and see what the surprise is :)

ProlificYoungGentlemenBreeder · 14/02/2012 09:02

A card and big bunch of red tulips.
He got a card and a cd he has been after for a while.
We also had the M&S meal last wkend.

WaitingForMe · 14/02/2012 09:08

I get a cup of tea brought to me in bed every morning so that as usual. Last night I asked to do cards etc tonight so I'd be awake enough to enjoy it. The real reason is I haven't bought his card yet Blush

I've seen loads but none were right and he buys perfect ones. We're newlyweds so it HAS to say husband. He's cooking tonight and I've bought some heart-shaped cookie cutters and will be baking for him later. I'd be surprised if there was a present for me.

KateSpade · 14/02/2012 09:11

I got a box of chocolates great for my diet from my mum

  • because nobody else in the world loves me!

My daughter got some pink/red rubber ducks to play with in the bath also from my mum..

my dads got my mum a pandora charm, and she has got him nothing, as usual...

fuzzPigwickPapers · 14/02/2012 09:12

I haven't got a card this year Shock first time in 10yrs but I told DH not to worry about it as he can barely leave the house ATM.

He got me an amazing gift, it cost him about a fiver. A single 4-page bit of second hand sheet music. I actually squealed when I opened it :o

Distended · 14/02/2012 09:13

I got him a wallet: £20
I got a bottle of cherry coke:£1:09

He left my present in the work van and had to improvise - it was that or a microwavable burger

Tiggsybabes · 14/02/2012 09:15

I've actually been given a heart shaped box of Thorntons chocolates. V impressive as DH usually forgets & buys me something from the supermarket on the way home in the evening. I'm cooking a posh dinner for the 2 of us, will feed the children earlier as he doesn't get home til 7.

Kveta · 14/02/2012 09:17

I got a card. Signed 'from DH'. Romantic AND effusive.

I did get a new laptop too, and a large bunch of flowers and a HUGE chocolate cake, but those are birthday presents. The birthday card was much more effusive too, so he is wholly forgiven :)

bleedingheart · 14/02/2012 09:20

Nothing.

We don't do presents but we always do cards.

No card from him and a grumpy 'we don't do cards' when I gave him his.
Lovely handmade card from DS (4) though.

blondiep14 · 14/02/2012 09:22

We treated ourselves to an album each from iTunes! I might get some tulips later if he gets a chance to go to the shops. We didn't bother with cards, seem a bit silly when you're married.

t0lk13n · 14/02/2012 09:23

Think it is a load of rubbish and money making for companies. So I will be getting and giving nothing. Our 21st wedding anniversary is next week so will be celebrating that!

tardisjumper · 14/02/2012 09:26

I got a book of love poetry and a bouquet.

We had a lving room picnic at the weekend and we are going away for a romantic mini break to krakow Blush

reastie · 14/02/2012 09:26

I've got nothing yet Hmm . Not even a happy valentines day. I sneaked some heart cupcakes in DHs work bag yesterday evening as a surprise and he took them out this morning and said he won't have them at work, he'll wait till he gets home - no thanks or pleased face or anything Sad . Little does he know when he gets home they'll be a big homemade heart shaped chocolate cake waiting Grin and some flowers, a card and a couple of bits of tat thoughtful pressies for him. I'll be lucky if I get a card bought from our local shop and some garage flowers, but as ever, live in hope of diamonds [gritted teeth]

QuickLookBusy · 14/02/2012 09:32

Nothing yet as DH is away.

I've made him some heart shaped biscuits with coffee flavoured filling

He is back this evening and he offered to take me out for a meal. I said no, as I can't think of anything worse than going to a resaurant tonight, when it's all couples gazing into each others eyes.

auburnlizzy78 · 14/02/2012 09:42

I got a mug with a picture of Tigger on it.

I ate my real Valentine's present last week when I found it under the sofa (big box of chocolates). Got caught by DH and was very offended when he said he had hidden it there on 2nd Feb because he didn't think I ever hoovered under the sofa so wouldn't find it before the 14th.

We exchanged cards and have a romantic break in Bruges coming up, obviously without DS!!!!

sundaybest · 14/02/2012 09:46

Nothing. We don't do Valentine's day. A lot of commercial rubbish imo that only makes lonely single people feel like crap.

WaxyBean · 14/02/2012 09:48

We don't do Valentines Day, and haven't for the 8 years we've been together. OH this morning left me a big box of chocs and a card. I got him nothing. Sod. Now I feel guilty (but not guilty enough to go and get him anything).

12 cards lined up on each step of the stairs, each one romantic effusive and expensive, a tray of breakfast with heart shaped confetti and champagne. DP is entirely dressed in red and pink and later we will depart for a weekend long marathon of cunnilingus and chocolate in a country cottage of my choosing

tallwivglasses · 14/02/2012 10:01

A courtesy call from the CSA saying they'd tracked down ExP's workplace and would be deducting £850 from his wages starting next month.

It's a long time coming - DD is 20!

Life is sweet Wink

bleedingheart · 14/02/2012 11:19

tallwivglasses I think I like yours best! That really is a long time coming though!

KWL51 · 14/02/2012 11:30

well we're not officially a couple, still just dating, but i assume the card i got this morning along with three new trollbeads, stuffed through the letterbox were from him.
we're not on a date this evening as i have my children and they havent been introduced, as still too early for all of that.
if the card and beads werent from b/f then ive got an admirer who knows me well!
i sent him a card through the post with heart shaped chocolates in it.
