Thanks TigerStripes.

I've arranged the half dead flowers now and the octopus body parts cup has pride of place on the kitchen counter, so I can keep glancing at the random legs and smiling.

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 14/02/2012 17:17

A bunch of roses and a magazine, from the only person who loves me...........me !!!

ReebleBauble · 14/02/2012 17:27

I dont do Valentines, even though Ive never been single on this date for over 10 years now. I just dont like squishy mushy expressions of love.

However, this year DP got a lie in, a mug of lemsip, a card with a bee on it, a CD he's been wanting for the past year and my chest infection revenge for the swine flu he gave me on our first date

I got to do his washing, take the baby to the hospital for eye check, deal with DPs bigot, racist, senile father and file my paperwork for a divorce from soon to be ex-H. Later I will cook his chillisagne (lasagne made with chilli con carne) and mop the jam footprints DD has kindly left in the dining room.

He honestly does spoil me every other day of the year though Grin

GoingForGoalWeight · 14/02/2012 17:29

I got a ten million pound cheque, then i woke up and made my own coffee :(

Ambi · 14/02/2012 17:30

Nothing tangible, planning on 4 orgasms though.

MaybeSheWill · 14/02/2012 17:32

I've got myself some chocolates and some wine and shall be taking both, and a good book with me while I have a very, very long soak in a bath full of posh smelly stuff.

Blu · 14/02/2012 17:34

I bought a heart shaped toast rack (£3 in Sainsbury's) and intended to make heart shaped toast but then forgot to put a loaf in the breadmaker, so we had to have cereal.

Oh well.

Dotty342kids · 14/02/2012 18:46

Nice idea "noone'sgoingtoeatyoureyes" but he ordered it online, so I can't. Damn it!
How do I say "it's vile, send it back and buy me something half the price but twice the quality from M and S please" nicely?

GrittersWifeAndProud · 14/02/2012 19:42

Lady and the tramp dvd, although I'm still waiting to recieve it as DP only bought it about half an hour ago from tesco :o he has to write my card still too.

Shutupanddrive · 14/02/2012 19:50

Am I the only one who got a box of (fucking) milk tray! Hmm
Would rather have had wine, yes I know very ungrateful as all he had was a text! Blush
We don't usually bother and the reply to my text was 'I don't need a card when I have you' so yes very ungrateful here

Beaverfeaver · 14/02/2012 20:01

My OH told me he wanted to call off the wedding today. He still isn't home now either and we had steak and wine which I am starving for. I have just text him asking if he is eating or if I should just go ahead

flyingspaghettimonster · 14/02/2012 20:33

Influenza type A.

In fairness I got it a few days ago and from daughter not hubby. From him I got a lie in as he dealt with the Kids and made sure they had all the obligatory tat for Valentine's day at school. Not that I could have got out of bed anyhow.

I just found my card after dragging myself downstairs to feed my poor toddler who has been forced to watch Dora the explorer on repeat all day while eating goldfish crackers. He showed me daddy had left it on the sofa...

A delightfully dorky card of a heart filled with equations, and the message 'we got chemistry baby!' Inside... he was clearly delighted to find this as 'not only is it possibly the dorkiest card ever, but it has a godawful pun inside too!'

He then explains that a lot of the equations on the front are physics not chemistry... realises he has lost the romance factor somewhat, tells me I make his zygomaticus muscles contract and he wants to be my derivative and lie tangent to my cards... and that whilst he may be a nerd, he is my nerd.

This is the most romantic card I have received in years...

Shutupanddrive · 14/02/2012 20:33

Definately open the wine beaver Sad for you

flyingspaghettimonster · 14/02/2012 20:34

Cards = curves. Think my phone has flu too.

DartsAgain · 14/02/2012 20:35

DP & I have done zilch about today, apart from sex! We've both long thought that it's been over-commercialised, and anyway we have a significant date near the end of the month that we celebrate in a more personal way without all the overpriced tat....

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 14/02/2012 20:42

FlyingSpaghetti - you've been outed by that card. Clearly you are Amy Farrah Fowler and your DH is Sheldon. Grin

Beaver that is really sad, are you okay?

MarianneM · 14/02/2012 20:47

I think I am getting a CD - looking forward to seeing what it is!

I got DH Bach's St John Passion. And a card.

countessbabycham · 14/02/2012 20:50

No cards,no presents, but topped the day off with a special shared moment.

Had a row.

Pollykitten · 14/02/2012 20:55

Home made weird dinner and a bunch of tulips with the price tag on - god love him! I didn't get him anything - managed to persuade him that it's the man who has to do valentines and acted all horrified at the very IDEA that I would be doing anything for him! Ah, simple creatures. I did last year though and he didn't so it's all fair and square!

Pollykitten · 14/02/2012 20:56

Sorry Beaver just read your post. Don't panic and definitely eat the steak. Lots of luck.

oldraver · 14/02/2012 21:01

A piece of pink lingerie, with little hearts on it

MarianneM · 14/02/2012 21:10

Just opened mine - Brahms's Lieder. Wonderful! My lovely DH!

PermanentlyOnEdge · 14/02/2012 21:10

Violet and Rose fondant chocs and Bad card 'to POEtine from DHtine'. Oh dear.

Beautiful M&S flowers tulips and red roses and lovely card from DS (4), with an 'I love you mummy' and shy kiss. Priceless! ( got teary at that bit )

MaybeSheWill · 14/02/2012 21:15

Beaver eat the steak, drink the wine and do some nice things for yourself. A soak in the bath or your favourite film. Little things help. :( for you, hope you're ok as you can be x

Backtobedlam · 14/02/2012 21:16

I got nothing, not a sausage...he did drop the bombshell that he wasn't having the kids, as agreed, later this week, so I've had to cancel my night out. I gave him a card, designer boxers and t.shirt and breakfast in bed.

I wouldn't mind if I was a total cow but I'm actually a nice person...definately worthy of a card!! May take myself out and buy my own present (on his card)!
