A kiss as he left for work at 5.30 and a card left fir me in the kitchen. He can have his card when he gets back from work as I haven't written it yet!

muddymooncups · 14/02/2012 07:58

DH away, he's left a card. Grin

He did buy me a bloody expensive lovely necklace ( won't say what, as i might out myself!) a few weeks ago.Smile

I'm surprised, as after 24 years, this is the first time i've got more than a card.
We usually don't bother. ( I did say that perhaps he was making up the lost years!Grin.

OH has a card and a fabric rose (DD added the rose Grin).

muddymooncups · 14/02/2012 07:59

& i spent a few £££ on LH. Blush for OH.

JambalayaCodfishPie · 14/02/2012 07:59

A new Hoover, with a takeaway menu stuck to it and a Winnie the Pooh post it saying 'Happy Valentines - pick whatever you want. Xxx'Grin

We don't do valentines. Grin

cupofteaplease · 14/02/2012 08:00

Florence and the Machine's latest album for me.

I'm making dh some black pudding scotch eggs for his present, he's been after some for ages!

HairyBeaver · 14/02/2012 08:01

I've got a lovely bunch of tulips (my fave) and will be getting card/chocs later. Still got to get his today and we are getting the M&S £20 meal deal for tonight as we cba to cook. He also brought me the ranchy dress thing i saw in ann summers last week and have made him wait all week before he sees me in it tonight ;)

MistyMountainHop · 14/02/2012 08:01

a lovely card, posh chocolates and champagne - champagne to be saved till our dirty weekend away this weekend

DressDownFriday · 14/02/2012 08:03

He got me Thornton chocs and bottle of fizz. I bought some fancy champagne flutes at the weekend so will now get to use them. btw I only bought the flutes because they were pretty and cheap and not because we are regular champer drinkers.

I got him a card but will be making a lovely meal tonight - shop bought beef Wellington. Will buy a fancy pud later.

TroublesomeEx · 14/02/2012 08:05

DD and I are making a heart shaped chocolate cake later that we will cover in pink buttercream and "fairy sparkles".

He'll love it!

missmartha · 14/02/2012 08:06

Posh chocs, red roses and a tiny photo in a tiny sliver antique frame of him and me when we first got together,

We look like children. Aw....

BenderBendingRodriguez · 14/02/2012 08:09

A mutually agreed and very satisfying nothing. DD decided to show her love for Daddy by pissing on him just before he left for work.

MrsChemist · 14/02/2012 08:09

A kenwood mixer from both of us, to both of us.

lucidlady · 14/02/2012 08:12

Another one still waiting for the birthday present! I'm not holding my breath today - it took DH 3 years to give me my first Valentine's card.

cory · 14/02/2012 08:14

Dh and I do a ritual exchange of a smallish box of chocolate each, which we then consume together in the evenings, 3 at a time, over the next few weeks. It is a comfortable ritual that sits well with our 29 years together. No cards here- you can't eat those.

TheCunningStunt · 14/02/2012 08:15

Well a thread yesterday made me buy the kenwood prospero. So dp said that's my valentines day gift Grin as long as I bake her a cake with it HmmGrin

Happy valentines day all. We don't really celebrate it at all...but any excuse to eat cake right!?!

TheCunningStunt · 14/02/2012 08:15

Snap MrsChemist!!! Haha

PatTheHammer · 14/02/2012 08:16

I got a kindle, which I love!

I did feel guilty though as I didn't think we were doing anything so hastily arranged a meal out on saturday, just at local pub but he seemed to enjoy it. DH took us all to pizza express yestarday so DD could have the heart-shaped doughballs.

This morning the DC's have bought me various bits of tat from their bedrooms claiming that they are presents and I have given them a bag of heart-shaped marshmallows to eat (after breakfast, not before!).

diddl · 14/02/2012 08:16

Nothing yet & he´s gone to work so not looking hopeful!

Would have liked a card but that´s all so not too bothered.

Forgot to give him his card & pressie this morningBlush

ILoveSanta · 14/02/2012 08:17

I haven't got DH anything, nothing he wants, and I hate buying tat for the sake of it.
I have let him have a lie in though, we are both off this week :) so I got up with DS.
He will have got me flowers, and possibly wine, although we are ttc so if he thought about it he may not have (although I won't ovulate until the weekend, so a glass or two would be safe!).
We always give each other cards, and he always gets me flowers, but that's about all. We have never been big on valentines day since we were young and in lust and it all seemed so important but we do always have a nice meal, either at home or out. Tonight we will have a meal in at home, cooked by my DH, which I am looking forward to :-)

Card and chocs, gave him card. I only buy a card if I see one I like though. i'd rather not send him a card than send a cheesy one.

MiladyGardenia · 14/02/2012 08:30

A lovely card with 'Fancy a bonk?' written inside and a pile of dirty washing-up. Romance flourishes in this house.

Still, we did agree to get nothing- we never 'do' Valentine's Day.

Having said that, I will be upping my campaign for a couple of necklaces from Liberty's. I'll have to make up some occasion I think. Grin

roughtyping · 14/02/2012 08:35

Bunch of flowers and a Beatles piano book, and off for a massage in a bit :)

we don't usually get each other stuff so only got him shortbread oops!

thehairybabysmum · 14/02/2012 08:37

I got a card and a small bar of dairy milk (my favourite!), he got a card and a packet of two Scotch eggs!
