Im scared to go to Dubai. Im scared I'll do something illegal that I wouldnt think about and end up in prison. Silly I know. Much better places to go IMO.

What someone said about slave labour. And the utter stupidity of building a city in the desert to show off their unbelievable riches. Dubai is vile and i could never visit unless the do some major changes to the running of the country. And offer quite a lot of appologies for the godawful treatment to some of the people who live there.

It was possible to invest money there without too many questions being asked, so money to build all this wonderfulness has come from the proceeds of sex trafficking and drugs. Not to mention the many labourers who PAID to go work there, thinking they would be supporting their families, who are now trapped, indebted, and living in slum conditions.

Thank you porto Its nice to be useful ! I had no idea it was quite so awful until i read that. Some idea but even so i was so and when i read it.

These workers, the maids and labourers and buliders, are human beings with families who they need to send money to. How any westerner can rub their hands in glee at their bargain apartment and cheap child care. and still sleep at night, is quite frankly beyond me.

Would go there if you paid me for the reasons listed above.
