hth

Pandemoniaa · 25/01/2012 11:45

He's being a tittish child.

(Not that we know the backstory of course)

Make sure you keep abreast of this matter.

unreasonableannie · 25/01/2012 11:48

what did he buy them

Catsdontcare · 25/01/2012 11:48

what did he buy them?

JustHecate · 25/01/2012 11:48

I don't know.

If they bought everyone else one and not him, and there's a history and he feels hurt because it is a deliberate snub, then he is not a tit - they are Grin

If folks really only buy for the children, then he's being a tit

To take two examples at random.

Marymaryalittlecontrary · 25/01/2012 11:48

Yes he is, but, why didn't they get him a present?

I wouldn't sulk about it but I would be a bit surprised if my husband's parents didn't get me a Christmas present as they have done every year so far.

MissPenteuth · 25/01/2012 11:50

Is he sulking, or is he actually upset? I think it depends on the circumstances; there was a post over Christmas from an MNer whose in-laws had bought significantly bigger presents for other kids in the family than for the OPs, and had either bought the OP something cheap and rubbish or nothing at all (I forget the details). It all sounded quite hurtful though.

TeacupTempest · 25/01/2012 11:50

I think I would feel hurt if my in laws didn't get me a gift if they had for everyone else.

discobeaver · 25/01/2012 11:55

:) lisaro!
I think the situation should be nipped in the bud. Someone has boobed, but it is a bit of a storm in a D cup.

BendyBob · 25/01/2012 11:56

Aw I feel sorry for him

January 25, one month on, and still brooding. I like his style. I could of course probably keep it going all year if it was me..BlushWink

Great thread title btw. Short, direct and no nonsense. None of those stupid dots drawing you in '...' It sounds more of a statement than a questionGrin

discobeaver · 25/01/2012 11:56

Maybe your husband would like a DVD as a make up present?
How about The Talented Mr Nipply? Jude Law is good in that.

Ok I will stop now.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 25/01/2012 11:58

I shall repeat myself.....Erm...yes he is. How old is he, 9? Maybe you should buy and wrap some crayons up for him and say it is his late present from your parents!

thegruffalossecretlovechild · 25/01/2012 12:01

On the face of it, yes he is being a tit
BUT...... there's surely more to this????

Hullygully · 25/01/2012 12:01

Why didn't they?

Should they have done?

Does he feel it shows they don't like him/ care about him?

goonies · 25/01/2012 12:07

It depends on the history? I wouldn't be very happy if my parents didn't buy my husband anything,

ENormaSnob · 25/01/2012 12:52

Why didn't they?

YuleingFanjo · 25/01/2012 13:16

There was a thread recently where a woman was upset that she didn't get a present. Like everyone says it's all about the context, why didn't he get one, how is their relationship normally etc.

Sulking is a bit stupid though - why take it out on you?

Greenshirt · 25/01/2012 13:32

Hully-He is a 39 yr old man.My parents were perhaps too busy buying our KIDS presents.

OP posts:
ENormaSnob · 25/01/2012 13:37

Did they get you a gift op or was it decided no adult gifts?

Did you get them a gift?

Cherriesarelovely · 25/01/2012 13:48

I'm sure my DP would be upset if she didn't receive a christmas gift from my parents since she gave them very thoughtful gifts and since everyone else recieved one. I would also feel upset about this if if happened to me BUT as you all say, it depends entirely on the context. If others didn't receive gifts that is different or if they ordered something for him and it never arrived or whatever, but just to leave one person out....that is mean. I don't blame him.

Greenshirt · 25/01/2012 13:55

We don't have a big family.Only husband and kids on Xmas day. They bought me a little token gift of some biscuits, maybe they thought, reasonably, that we would share them. His mom bought him some body spray,so he had something to open.Kids and I got him a new gym bag, some chocs and a little teddy from the littlest one.It wasn't like he was the dad that Santa forgot!

OP posts:
dreamingbohemian · 25/01/2012 14:02

So for christmas he got:

body spray
a gym bag
chocolate
a teddy bear

That's it?

I don't approve of grown men sulking, but that's not really all that great tbh

Forrestgump · 25/01/2012 14:04

If Christmas isn't a big thing with your guys then he is being a tit!
