Because if she has been I would like to know why.

TLES is as mad as a box of frogs.

pictish · 07/11/2011 20:22

As a bit of a rude, abrasive bastard myself, I thought DBF was very full on. It was never her place to take that OP to task, but she, in thinking she is the sole voice of doggy related advice, thought it was...and it did turn into a personal attack.

It's well and good to express yourself with passion, but you can't expect to ram it down other people's throats like that. I thought her manner of posting on that thread was unacceptable.
And coming from me, that's saying something.

And foolish to the extreme.

SacreLao · 07/11/2011 20:22

THAT'S the comment she was banned for?

I said worse than that and sure many other people did as well.

JustineMumsnet · 07/11/2011 20:23

@Pinot

She was banned for that ?? Fucking hell.

No, not just for that, she was banned for persistently being aggressive and shouty, despite many pleas to tone it down.

SixStringWidow · 07/11/2011 20:23

The doghouse is the place to be HullyGully, it's utterly barking Grin

BrianAndHisBalls · 07/11/2011 20:23

MNHQ - Someone else said something pretty undorgiveable but unless I missed it DBF didn't Confused

akaemmafrost · 07/11/2011 20:23

Wow, I cannot believe my post got deleted, always feel a bit special when it happens though Grin.

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/11/2011 20:23

NO WAY Justine.
I don't always agree with DBF but she is the most passionate person on MN.
She'll never back down on the rights of animals but MN needs people like her.
She lives by her principles, and banning her makes Mumsnet look rather pathetic.

Joins sit in.

DooinMeCleanin · 07/11/2011 20:23

Where were the personal attacks by DBF? I saw none. Have the other posters who made personal attacks been banned?

Everyone feels so strongly because they agree with dbf and her intentions.

But it doesn't change the rules

ColdSancerre · 07/11/2011 20:23

But TLES was shown to be lying, she clearly is foolish. The disgrace thing I agree is subjective. The most bonkers banning ever.

ItsonlymeMrsDB · 07/11/2011 20:23

Justine

But surely you must be aware of the good that DBF has done on this site, always ready to offer advice etc.

I don't claim to know about all threads, but to ban her for essentially responding to a personal attack has me baffled.

zimm · 07/11/2011 20:23

FFS how can an attack on an internet forum be interpreted as personal. It's anonymous!! MNHQ you have confused your forum with with actual real life. Meh. I used to like it here.

Northernlurker · 07/11/2011 20:24

Justine - was dogma an intentional pun? Grin

Fwiw there is plenty about the style of posting in TD that I don't like and I have said as much. Leaving that aside though, in this case DBF was absolutely right about her view of the situation. Anybody who has been on Mnet for any length of time will have come across TLES and been bloody annoyed by her absurdity. The outcome of this situation is manifestly unfair.

Hullygully · 07/11/2011 20:24

Oh except the banning bit. Banning is a poor show when the heart is in the right place. Deletions would surely do?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 07/11/2011 20:24

That is not a personal attack. Are we not allowed to tell the truth on here any longer?

The thing that differentiates MN from other parenting forums is that you don't have to just say 'there, there dear' and pat posters on the head.

TLES does more damage to this forum than DBF.

LoopyLoopsRootyFroots · 07/11/2011 20:25

Fuck this, I know NM isn't the place to be, but can anyone recommend somewhere less twattish than here? I've had enough.

RatHammock · 07/11/2011 20:25

My first deletion - I'm not sure it was warranted. Am I allowed to say that I think the OP of the original thread should be banned?

GetOrf · 07/11/2011 20:25

Tbh I think I called the OP a liar, an emotional vampire and an idiot who was wasting everyone's time, and who spoke complete bullshit.

There are very strong minded people all over MN. Are you going to ban them all because you have had a few complaints?

I am sure you have had many complaints about Xenia over the years, her comments really hurt sahms.

Theer are several very annoying people on breast and bottle feeding who say crap and emotional guilt trips about formula feeders.

What about that REALLY offensive idiot on the Feminist board who was making rape jokes, and who really hurt people? People begged you to ban him.

DBF was truly and actively helpful. She also educated people - me included. I have no axe to grind - I am not a dog owner, I have had rows myself with DBF (she said if she saw me she would kick me up the arse Grin) and yes, she is abrasive, but she also does a lot of very good work.

Goldenbrown1981 · 07/11/2011 20:25

I disagree about the 'dogma' in doghouse. I don't see that it is any stronger than on boards like feminism. People have strong opinions and they express them. Only on doghouse LIVES are at stake. People should be allowed to fight for a LIFE.

What DBF said was NO worse than what any other people have said. Victimisation
