To have a night out with out DH

Next Friday I am going to see a very known stand up. I am going with a couple of girls from work. However they are wanting to have a few drinks before and after. Normally if we go out my DH comes with me just down to the local.

Now if I do manage to get out I normally get my parents to watch the kids. This is so the DH does not pull his face and also I can have a little lie in to get over a hangover over.

But next Friday my mum can't watch the kids. My DH says he us fine going to the stand up but does not want me having a drink after as I he says I shouldn't be late home.

I'm gutted as looking forward to letting my hair down a little. AIBU to want to stay out a little late and have a few drinks.

What reason does he give for him acting like your dad not wanting you to have a drink/get home late?

It's something I would push tbh.

How would he be with you if you did what the fucking hell you liked before and after the gig? Sulk at a wild guess?

And who are you going to see???

I don't think you are being unreasonable at all. You deserve a night out with the girls & if it involves a couple of drinks then why not???
As kong as you don't end up plastered & need to spend the following day in bed recovering your DCs won't know anything.
Is your DH a bit jealous that you're going our without him? Does he go out with his mates without you?

Seeing the lovely paddy mcGuinness. Even when he does not have the kids and I went out he dictates that I should not behome after 12. He says as he can't sleep with out me.

well, I don't sleep well when my Dp is out until all hours but that is my problem not his.

Does he go out and come home when you tell him to?

Your DH is dictating how long you can stay out for and what you are allowed to do? Do you have a similar level of control over his social life? Why shouldn't you be late home?

Am rather Confused about why your DH is saying that, sounds like he is BVVU unless you go out very often and he has to stay at home every night looking after the kids.

So you only ever go out down your local?

If you try to go out without him your DH pulls a face? And won't look after the kids the next morning so you can lay in? Why's that?

So if you want to go out without him then you have to ask your parents as he won't look after his own kids, is that right?

Why doesn't he want you to stay out late? Is that so that you don't ask for a lay-in the next day?

The best thing to do to cure this is to go out and stay out as late as you wish to and if he moans tell him that he is your dh not your bloody father,i cant believe there are actually men out there like this still.

My dh called me once to ask where i was,i told him i was "out" and was wher i was at.Her never bothered again.

You name is very familiar to me OP and I can't figure out why. I'm guessing an old thread of yours that really caught my attention.

Anyway I was looking to see if I can find it and instead I found one where you said that he wouldn't stay one night in hospital with your dc after you had been there all week and had hardly slept, and then when he did go and stay with her he complained that she is "upset from her meds and says if she carrys on then i'll have too come back" . . . he don't sound great!

He does not have a social life he prefers to stay in or if we get a sitter then he might get persuaded to go to the local. Yes they are his kids. He says he would lock the door if it gets to late and leave the keys in.

He is a moody shit at times and yes I think he is jealous I have friends. He never goes out which I tell him all the time if he wanted to go out I would not have a problem.

I actualy trying to think the last time I went out with out him. It was 5 months ago friends birthday. I was home for just after 12. This was because I couldn't be arsed with him whinging if i was any later.

We have just had a row about it and now I am even more pissed off with him.
