They deleted what I considered a valid thread because a few people failed to understand the point of it and chose to overreact and get offended instead. Perhaps I should try and remove any thread I disagree with? How do I go about doing that?

True enough BTLOA but it wouldn't have been difficult to have a general discussion on the evolution of language without choosing a word that is very emotive. FWIW I enjoy learning about things like this through the medium of forums (especially this one)and didn't report but can understand why other posters may have found it unecessarily distasteful.

AnyFucker - It WAS NOT offensive. It did not promote paedophilia. It judged how the media gave it a purely negative meaning in comparison with another word such as bibliophile.

There are more offensive threads on here daily.

But shakey, I couldn't have used another word to make the same point. That word WAS the point. Francophile, Bibliophile etc are not perverse in any sense. But for some reason paedophile can ONLY mean child abuser, as proven by those who took offence.
